I am currently testing the new patch, and it seems to have made the problem worse. I load TAI and type a greeting, then the program goes unresponsive instantly. after waiting for 10 minutes I force quit TAI.

The beta patch is a lot slower, than version B

Using the beta patch:
Starting a session with Alice, I type Hi and it never comes up in chat. The program locked up, I have the swirly blue circle of doom and the "Not responding" in the top-left, and even 5 minutes later it was still frozen.

Do you both could do a quick test with the patch 55.7.2b from here and tell me if it's better with it:

I'm not having this issue, but I am seeing more blue swirls randomly, there is a really good hit on one of the problems i've noticed below (these problems were not in version B)

Domme responds to the general intro conversation virtually instantly. Typing "Yes Mistress" when she *isn't* actively anticipating a response caused the program to lock up for another 54/50/48/51 seconds each time I tested. When she is expecting one, it pretty consistently responds within a second or two, leading me to believe the biggest issue with the freezes is checking all the responses. Though loading the voice lines is also still freezing TAI where videos etc don't anymore to such a degree, as well as some random freezes mid-module that don't seem to be tied to anything I can find.

Your feedback is really helpful, thx a lot for it,... I cannot promise a thing,... but with such feedback I get ideas for where to search for problems! Even if I repeat myself: THX!

This is dead on...when she doesn't seem to be expecting a response, i'm getting ~20-30 seconds of a blue circle / not responding. If needed, I am running this in Parallels on a 2020 MAcbook Pro, 32gb RAM, i7 and giving 16gb of RAM and 4 processors to the Windows 10 VM. The beta introduced this (i've not had the problem until last night and today)

The ideas I've had for that:
1 - Get me a new dress - find a new imageset of the me (domme), add it to her folder, fully tag it
2 - Get me pictures to play with - find X pictures from Y category which you really like and add them to images
3 - Find something for us to watch - get a new video that you really like and put it into videos (ideally under a certain name so it can be used next session for avoid the edge game or something like that)
4 - Read a story - read X stories from viewforum.php?f=18
5 - Participate in a game - play a round in a game you find in viewforum.php?f=22 (could be specific links for specific games since even many old games are still playable)
6 - Do a webstease - go to https://milovana.com/webteases/?start=### (dome randomly generates page number) , pick a tease from that page, and do that (with some upper time limit since some teases can be really long)
7 - Watch a video - watch X minutes of porn you like, no touching
8 - Watch a video actively - watch X minutes of porn you like, stroke 1 per second, no edging
9 - Do X strokes until next session, no edging, optionally in N batches of M strokes

I wanted to give my take on these:
1. Fantastic idea, but I do understand Marcus' point. I personally have ~ 110 photo shoots of Riley Reid, and since she is still shooting, having this for "home work" is great. Sometimes i'll impose this "home work" on myself, but for her to "assign" it would be fun (for me)
2. I do this on a regular basis, as well as videos ( # 3). Having her request it would be awesome, and on the plus side, it would make sure you're not seeing the same content even if the script runs the same items. Some of my folders do lack some videos, but I love watching 45 - 90 seconds of a random video (and the tasks around that).

4. I'd have to skip this
5. Participating in something, sure, not sure what kind of game I'd do. Maybe a free game, less than 5 minute game, and if I lose, do X or Y or win, do Z?
6. This is a problem - some teases are hours long and I rather spend the time with TAI or improving it
7. I want the script to show me this from my folder
8. I want the script to show me this from my folder

Also there are many reasons why those points could be problematic, maybe you don't have the possibility to get new picture sets of the domme, stories would have to be pre-readed to make sure they are good and match the style of Alice, games and webteases would be like 99% out of the style Alice has, and watching videos and doing strokes are part of a session or can be done outside a session anyway.
Sorry again, but such tasks will not be implemented (btw.: there are some tasks, one of them would come only after it's 'unlocked'' ,... and the others are for when you get locked in chastity, ... but that chastity part is bugged till now, so maybe in the future there might be some tasks when you are locked up)

I think some of them could be problematic, but it could be a task that gives you an either or ... much like when it asks if you want to slap your ass. If you say No (I can't remember the exact script or wording), it says something like "Oh, that's a shame, how about ...". That way someone could say no for the picture sets. I know you rather not implement it, but weighing the other side and understanding their point. I'm not quite to the skill level to add and script tasks myself yet, but sure I can work and add custom things myself to fit my wants if I really want it.

Oh no, they have leaked! Na, all good. Release is soon anyway. Feeling pretty good with the current build. Only had 1 out of 5 sessions crash. Otherwise only minor things I fixed already. Going smoothly.

Sorry, but this would be against how Alice is designed,...
As I said, tasks are boring,... and face it, when you want to run a session, in that moment you are up to it,... so you start a session and have fun,... but outside a session,... how often it happens that you are in the mood to do such tasks?
Alice allows you to touch yourself outside a session anyway...

Yes, while you are in a session obviously these tasks are pretty boring. Here is how spicy would deal with such tasks: Use during chastity time, there isn't that much to do either (in Spicy there actually is, so that is kinda still a boring replacement) or instead use them as tasks for: Punishment time, time spent waiting for something else (like ice melting, butt stretching or whatever).

However I would consider myself to be in the mood for BDSM more than just while having a session. Otherwise I wouldn't find the time to work on Spicy would I? So why shouldn't these tasks fit outside of the session?
Yes of course you have some valid points regarding the set tagging and stuff but you could make it optional like: Preferably do this if not do that.
And why not let the user watch porn without touching/while in chastity to get him more hyped for the next teasing session?
Additionally while Spicy will allow you to cum outside of sessions as well unless you grant her her big wish of becoming your keyholder it's still something that without this rule often defeats the purpose anyway imo. Maybe people that don't connect BDSM that heavily to sexuality might see that differently but for me like cuming in between sessions just ruins the mood.

Hiya, just did some quick testing.

Standard 55.7.2b without Daragorn's hotfix:
- "Hi" shows up instantly in the chat window (though TAI does still freeze),
- 12/10/9 seconds later the cursor starts flashing again.
- 30/29/28 additional seconds later, the intialisation finishes and I get the Options Menu.
[It's worth noting that these times are a significant reduction on what they were before I remembered to add the folder as an exception to my antivirus - something I thoroughly recommend anybody having the freezing issues to do]

Beta 55.7.2d:
- "Hi" sits in the typing box and the program is unresponsive for 69/70/73 seconds, and appears in the chat window as soon as the cursor resumes
- 15/13/13 additional seconds to reach the Options Menu.

And because I was curious, 55.7.2b with Daragorn's hotfix:
- "Hi" sits in the typing box
- 2/0/1 seconds later the cursor starts flashing again
- 16/18/17 additional seconds to reach the Options Menu.

It's no trouble; If I come across an issue that I can reproduce, I'll fix it.

Would be a *lot* easier with the source to your patch though, that would let me stop the thing in the debugger.
Some observations, which need dealing with in the source:

• Path combining fails if there are not images tagged with a specific keyword. This then freezes the program. I'm only guessing, but it looks to me like you're attempting to combine the path in a background worker, looping to choose the image. As no valid candidates are presented, the loop is likely running infinitely.
• Chat window size is not remembered. (Old issue)
• Error if the DNS lookup for a hostname fails and then freezes. Probably the same issue as the missing tagged images.
• Error, possible freeze if a picture is tagged, but the image on disk is missing.

• Incorrect image / sound filter in a *lot* of files, leading to a freeze, as it looked for a file without an extension. (Note: Some stuff may again not be used, I've just done a global search for the buggy filter)

*Note* I have added Leezer3's updates, so I do not know if that will change anything.

there seems to be a new issue, the Mistress slideshow doesn't always work correctly. (not sure if this is an issue with the way I have the folders tagged?) Slideshows are only playing in reverse. IE if I leave everything alone the nothing happens with she types, it is only when i change the slideshow to the last photo that there is any movement.

So, I got into an interesting loop - "I love the thought of you sitting there in your chair," then a ~ 5 minute cycle of stroking into a single edge, then again the same line, and the same cycle. And any time I said anything, I got a minute or so break break, and then the cycle would reset into the same line followed by a similar set of tasks.

I didn't find a way out of it and about an hour later I had to hard-give-up by using the safeword

That sentence will haunt me for a long time ^^

This fixes the main program freeze issues I've spotted so far, but I've done no work on anything other than that.

It won't do anything for the speed issues some people are experiencing.
My best guess for this at the minute is that it's your internet security software interfering- Check that TeaseAI is allowed through any firewall that you have.

There is one thing which is important to me, that is to make her talk more natural,... more like a chat partner would do, and less to have her talk like a program would do.
There are a lot of changes I've made where I rephrased things like:
'I will show you some randomly selected pictures'
'If it's a femdom picture you will have to slap your balls'
'If it's a blowjob picture you will have to edge'
blabla...
(Not every instance of that example are actually changed (see my workflow),... this is just an example what comes to my mind right now)
... This doesn't sound right,... it's more of an explanation that the script will use a function to select a picture randomly and then select a action based on that.
Such things became more like:
'I will show you some pictures of my choice'
'Depending of what I'll show you, I will give you something to do while looking at it'
See the difference?

That's also why I hate ladder games,... she explains first how the ladder works,... then you have to go through it, already knowing what to expect, ... boring.
Instead I like it much more, and find it more realistic, when she just make you edge a lot out of the sudden, just because she's in the mood for it, she don't need a game or a reason to do so.

That said, back to the quotes:

Imho that would kill the atmosphere/immersion immediately, it would just remind you that you run a program and not be in a chat with a person.

Wouldn't match if she would make you get new porn.

Of course there must be some things optional, some limits must be respected (i.e. Anal, Chastity and such), ... but Alice is still a domme.
For low-level orders she gives there shouldn't be an either or, domme says, you have to do!
If someone don't even want to spank his ass, if he don't be able to get a shoelace to tie his balls,... then it might be better to watch some softcore JOI videos on pornhub.
Don't get me wrong, I like such discussions about this personallity and what should be in there and what not,... I respect every opinion, ... but tastes are different.

Maybe you want to look at 'EndCheckChastity.txt', ... it contains some ideas,... by far not finished, but if you can get some ideas or insperation, use it as you like!

New changes:

• Couple of missed locks.
• Renames a lot of files to more useful names.
• Splits out some of the larger helper functions into separate files.
• Converts various string comparisons to use enums instead. (May marginally speed things up, more to make things maintainable than anything else)

The biggest performance issues now appear to me to be that *everything* is being pulled from disk on each response cycle.
I strongly suspect those with performance issues are still on physical hard drives as opposed to SSDs, which would explain why others aren't seeing them.

Going to think about how to handle this, but it'll be a big job....

For any updates: Best way to install them would be to go to the folder:
TAI/Scripts/AliceMerged
Delete every folder EXCEPT the folder 'System' (this contains your progression), copy the zip file of the new version into the TAI main folder and then unzip the update 'here'.

Edit:
leezer3's fixes V8 included ... one thing I've missed, it's the 'checks the chore flags' in the start script... will add that with the next update.
Also if you try one of the patch-updates, it could happen that the domme pictures will not move to the next picture of the picture set when she is typing, ... there is a temporary walkaround, just type 'break' in the chat.

Changes:

• Adds BDSMLR to supported image blogs.
• Minor twiddling in the image worker so it doesn't popup stupid error messages when you hit cancel.

This isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, as it only pulls in a subset of the posts. (Specifically, the post must have an IMG tag in the description returned by the BDSMLR RSS feed)
No progress reporting either, but if you just let it run (no total posts number to work off in the RSS), it'll do it's magic

Going to try and compare between the most recent public version on GitHub and the changes from markus later in the week.
Fury is a little more problematic, as I don't think 1885 has posted the source for that one.

I hope that those of you who has problems with the freezes can try leezer3's latest patch and can provide some feedback to it.
It's an amazing job he does, THX leezer3!

I don't think so,.. I never had TAI on a SSD, and I never had such big freezes some users have reported.
Maybe it's about the whole PC, and how performant the users system is, ... but on the other hand the PC I run TAI on is also not the newest,... around 4 years old, nothing special.

This seems like a really great addition!

I strongly suspect the 'missing lines' problem isn't TeaseAI, but the scripts themselves.

Since I have encountered that problem a lot and also still trying to find the source of it, I think I can say that it's not the scripts.
I.e. I have in my last Alice-Update an edited file:
Scripts\AliceMerged\CBT\CBTBalls_First.txt
Each line has a '@RT(First,To begin with,For starters)' at first (to better recognize that it's the first line), ... it happens often to me that that first line for @CBTBalls will not be shown.
Another script which always have that 'eat up lines' problem is StripBlackJack, just add a @Goto(stripBlackJack) in the beginning of the start script to start it,... there are always the same scripts called,... but it happens that sometimes they work correctly,... but the exactly same scripts sometimes don't.
(I have rewritten 'StripBlackJack' 2 times completly because of that problem, first it was one huge script, the first rewrite was completly new designed, the second rewrite was the try to seperate it in many scripts (that's how it is now included in Alice).

I suspect that there is something wrong with Timer1, ... when you search in the source code for:
'RichTextBox1.Text += "File2Read: " & File2Read & vbCrLf
... that's in Public Sub CBTBalls(),... what I saw while testing is that while she was typing, ... before the text was displayed in the chat, that File2Read changed from:
Scripts\AliceMerged\CBT\CBTBalls_First.txt
to
Scripts\AliceMerged\CBT\CBTBalls.txt
before the line from CBTBalls_First.txt was displayed in the chat.

So it took the line from CBTBalls.txt instead of CBTBalls_First.txt, ... it feels like I have encircled the problem, ... but till now no luck with solving it.
