Re: Corona virus
It depends a lot from city to city, here in the northern part most ICUs are being filled to the brim with patients, and unfortunately there is a lack of respiratory devices; emergency services are trying to setup more ICUs in other buildings, and E.R. are in serious crysis. You can hear quite often ambulances relocating patients from hospital to hospital, trying to ease the situation. Like my father was saying this morning, obituaries in some cities went from half a newspaper page per day, to ten. In the next days we will see if the the country lockdown will have in influence of the disease spread.

Re: Corona virus
I wanna share some positive news I've read today, about how many have survived the disease having only minor symptoms (like 1 day of high fever and then settling down) so there are nice chances that if you catch it, it's manageable with just home care and symptoms don't get worse. I've been told making sure you're getting enough Vitamin C daily will help dealing with it. Of course resting and drinking enough as well.
Do your best to avoid getting infected and/or spreading it further to slow the advance. Try to do something fun to pass the time and avoid thinking just negative things. Today I cleaned a lot of the house, I figured if I get sick then I'm gonna be too tired to do it anymore. Try not to judge others really harshly for acting a bit off or wrong, the pressure of waiting for something bad to happen and trying to control it can be a lot and make people act not themselves or not in the most fashionable way.
Light a candle for those that got the worst end of it (but put off the fire when you're not watching it). If you can make someone feel better without helping the disease spread, consider doing it. Maybe send a message to someone that she has a really cute smile :D Pass around a few jokes even if they're not all in good taste and have a few laughs if nobody is getting insulted. Maybe do something fun with a roll of toilet paper and make someone laugh :D Stop reading news and making yourself feel worse and watch a movie instead before going to bed. Try to smoke less cigarettes to make it easier for your lungs.
If you can buy something from local businesses that are suffering from losing customers, do it.

Re: Corona virus
The problem is that it is not about you. It is about those around you. And in turn those around them. And so on.
In short, you becoming infected is not a problem because you get sick. It is a problem because you get contagious.
This is pretty much exactly the same fundamental problem of understanding that is so common among anti-vaxxers too
Yes, I most certainly CAN do it again!

Re: Corona virus
There is a lot of positive things to take from this situation as well.
Here in Norway people has gone in to lockdown without government has forced it through. Companies organize and buy computers so most people work from home. I work in a hospital and here we organize driving to work so people are not forced to use public transportation.
The negative effect of this is many companies lose a lot of money and therefore the workers does not have that secure job they thought they have.
Normally a virus like this have it peaks around 5-6 weeks and vanish during the summer. Hopefully there will be a vaccine for massproduction early autumn. Most expert think they will see a decline in the midle of april.

Re: Corona virus
Thank you. I wonder if you have some news from Udine, particularly San Danielle del Friuli. I ask because my ex is there and while I never want to speak to her again I'd like to see if it is actually less affected than other northern regions (I've had a go with the Italian Newspapers and google translate but it's tricky business.
The epidemiologists here in the UK are of the view that the virus will peak here in April/May and while cases are still quite low here by comparison with the rest of Europe there is a fair amount of panic: a paradox of frantic buying (toilet rolls. What the hell?) and empty streets today I hear.
I've been on lockdown off ill from work for the last two months so this is also for me a paradox of me being very used to being in the house and also really a bit frustrated at having to spend another month or two indoors...
