hj9k1, you can wait a little to see if tigrotto will reply, and if not, you reply. This way you control your pool size. If you issue that many invites, admins may increase you monthly allowance. It's on a case by case basis. As for myself, the ones I have are enough for the Discord requests.

Ok, clearly I was wrong when I had the distinct impression that it seemed very unhealthy to further push the work load onto one single person.


And yes, if there is any doubt, I found your reply both condescending and seemingly disconnected from reality.

First of all, sorry about my tone, I'm sure you didn't mean it quite the way I read it. I should have avoided replying until my feelings of subsided.

That said, the suggestion I posted may well be stupid, but I slightly lost it when the first feedback was not even that the suggestion is bad, but rather something which seemed to effectively suggest that there is no problem; all of this in the context of one single person effectively handling all requests in the very active Reddit thread dedicated to this purpose AND them just having received an enormous allotment of invite codes to be able to deal with that better.


I will not argue over this, I do not desperately need to be able to help if it turns out that no one else thinks this is a problem, but to me it just comes across as extremely unsustainable to further push this onto one person.
Hence my suggestion, which was purely based on my own experience and what I thought would seem to make it practical for any average user to contribute on a regular basis.
(The inflow of requests is high enough that even with myself just dropping by that thread a handful of times, I as a regular user run out of codes after a couple of days, and then the "cooldown" appears to be ~1month.)

I don't know if giving people more codes would change things. Even with 4 codes per month per user just about 50 people would be enough to hand out all the codes each month. I don't know why not many people give out invite codes and I don't want to criticize those who don't, but I'm happy and grateful that some do or at least showed interest to help. (I saw a new guy that recently joined dropping by to send his codes today which is nice)

I'm happy you are concerned about this but it looks worse than it actually is. I check the thread just once a day and it takes me 2 to 10 minutes (15 if there are really a lot of requests that day) to hand out all the codes.
Anyway I'm happy if people drop by to help and I get a "day off" or others decide to do it more consistently (also because I may decide to leave at some point in the future and so someone else will have to take care of that job).

So if you or anyone else wants to help you are more than welcome to do so and it's actually really appreciated.

So it seems to me that you must have more invites than I do to give away.

Unless you've been given more, you have 4 codes per month. I have a few more than that...
