Yes, picture loading is a pain. I don’t mind having to open images in a new tab too much as I often do this as is for landscape orientation images (wider than they are tall), because the Milo foum makes these look quite small otherwise.
Unfortunately I know of no great fix to prevent all of the images being loaded on every page of the thread, other than hosting sets onto an external host of some sort. Zerg did this for a while and it worked well, though technical the server used doesn’t allow adult content, it was running on a only visible to those with the link and it’s only a problem if someone reports it kind of arrangement.
That said, if anyone knows of any appropriate sites to use as image hosts to link to sets, it could be a helpful option to have available. I just ask that you please consider the TOS and rules of whichever site it might be.
