Does anyone still use the randomizer?

Post by chfluxfan »

Just wondering if anyone else still uses the randomizer program from 2011-2012. Unfortunately the source code was never released, so I can't modify it directly, but I was thinking of coming up with some utilities to facilitate production of playlists and also easier creation of the XML input files. Let me know before I spend too much time on this.

It's a little program someone wrote that lets you randomly play through rounds of all your videos, with the rounds enumerated by an XML file. The best feature (and the one I chiefly use) is the ability to manually program in the rounds you want to play, along with the break time between each round, therefore creating a "playlist."

PM if you want me to send it to you.

My thoughts are on creating some tools to facilitate making playlists according to what you want to see and how long you want to play.

Xity is spearheading an effort to make an interactive CH program. tmp_pmt is also working on something.

There is a small cabal of developers/creators who are helping, perhaps you could join us?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe chfluxfan is referring to the andyp's randomizer featured in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=7593

There's also a randomizer by bbampfade available on GitHub that was mentioned in the same thread:
https://github.com/bbampfade/ch-randomizer

I have no idea if the two are the same randomizer or not. Upon further investigation, it seems to have been reverse-engineered from andyp's randomizer.
My original Cock Hero songs can be found here:

If you're wondering what my avatar is, it's my own design entitled "The Crest of Confusion".

Thanks for the links, high_octane.

If your video is too fat, there's a solution!
Spoiler: show
The generated output of your video editor may be bloated, too big for not any significant benefit. One thing you can do is use HANDBRAKE with the H.264 (x264), RF18 Constant Quality and Web Optimized / Fast Start options, all other options by default. You'd be surprised how smaller the video becomes, without any impact to the quality.

Interesting for further details about the process.
