I don't think I'll truly be concerned until 1 of 2 things are invented and available to the public.
1.) A sex robot with WiFi. Could wind up getting raped of something by someone miles away.
2.) Remotely controlled chastity devices. Once THAT is a thing, it's only a matter of time before some asshat decides it would be funny to put someone else on permanent lock-down. Which is actually a rather hot fantasy, but a frightening potential reality.
As for the lawsuit you mentioned, it seems like an overreaction bordering on a cash grab to me. Yes, that's callous. But she was using a new (and therefore relatively untested) internet based pleasure device. The risks are evident. Not to mention she THOUGHT it was someone else getting her off. If you are given an orgasm by someone pressing a button, can you really say it was assault when the one who pressed the button isn't who you thought?
That said, it IS a severe invasion of privacy and the hacker involved should be prosecuted. See, I'm not a complete asshole.
