I have had trouble with this tease running in guideme before but never posted about it. The tease itself runs fine, but about 75% of the time the teasing text on the right hand frame doesn't appear and instead seems to show the paragraph formatting like %p and things like that. I recall that in one of the earlier iterations of guideme and the Gotta Edge Em All tease this never happened. Does anyone else have trouble with this?leaky_sissy wrote:Thank you for reuploading that. My apologies to all. I didn't realize I had grabbed only the file link, and this is my first time back to Milovana since then. It's been a crazy time.
Here is the correct link with the key, and I have edited my original post as well.

Re: GuideMe (TeaseMe v2.0): BETA Thread
All you need should be in the first post of this thread. Only the mega.co.nz links were broken (no idea why). Now you should be able to download GuideMe from depositfiles.com or mega.co.nz without any further problems.leaky_sissy wrote:Sorry if this is a silly question, but since I'm a bit late to the party, can someone please point me to a working download link to the latest version of GuideMe? Every download link that I've tried in this thread is a dead end (ie leads to a file that's no longer hosted).
Thanks!
Let me know if i can help :)philo wrote: But there is a new version I am working on that will be released soon.
I am finishing off some better documentation for the wiki before I release it.

Re: GuideMe (TeaseMe v2.0): BETA Thread
Nice! Just tried the little feature test in there and some neat stuff. That global javascript debug only once is soooo nice too!
*Edit*I just got a moment to try it out. I think the image upscaling could use a small tweak. If you have a portrait oriented style picture and drag the divider frame way to the right, the image scales horizontally to fit, but results in cutting off the lower half of the image.
This was at 200 for the image scaling preference on a 1920x1080 resolution. If set back to 100 and restart guideme, it has the expected behavior and keeps the image fit on screen. I'm not sure how the scaling is done, but it seems to try to fit the image width to the frame width, so if that were the case maybe check which is greater on the image, height or width, and use that to scale off of.
Again, no big deal as setting the app pref to 100 seems to keep it behaving as always.
Also, I'll say again, the global javascript only once is...awesome!

plus the first post of both this thread and the teaseme one.
Guideme is a development of Teaseme, so any teaseme tease should work in guideme but not the other way round.
there is also the option to down load teases in teaseme or the stand alone down load in the first post of this thread.
teaseme was originally written as an offline viewer for teases.

Re: GuideMe (TeaseMe v2.0): BETA Thread
I had a javascript question, really a curiosity so no big deal, but basically I was just getting a random list of files back and was unable to pop() or shift() them out. If the array had 7 items in it, and the last item was 'cool_file.txt' and I would run shift() on it, the last two items would be 'cool_file.txt', on the next shift the last 3 items would be like that, until the whole array was renamed to 'cool_file.txt'. So I would shift out the files but the array never emptied. Really weird.
I fixed it by just copying the list items to a new array like this:
I fixed it by just copying the list items to a new array like this:
Code: Select all
var ordered_encs = guide.listFiles( guide.fixPath("Scripts/random_encounters") );
var encs = ordered_encs.split(",");
var non_fucked = []; //encs wont push/pop right for some reason
for( var i = 0; i<encs.length; i++ )
non_fucked[i] = encs[i];
//shuffle order
parent.random_encounters = shuffle( non_fucked );
//later on was where i was doing the shifts and pops. Code worked when I added the 'non_fucked[]' array :)

I'm making a tease for myself using the offline teaseme editor, like I have done several times before and for some reason I cannot get guideme to load this xml file. It loads other tease files no problem but nothing happens when I try to load this one. Here is a link to the xml file only. Any thoughts?

Sorry to keep asking endless questions, but is there anyway from javascript to set a button that was added via override's hotkey and sortOrder attributes?

Re: GuideMe (TeaseMe v2.0): BETA Thread
Hello, I think I have found an odd bug having to do with playing audio in the 32 big version (might also do it in the 64).
Basically when playing an audio file on a page and in the pageLoad of the same page trying to call the guide.jsReadFileArray() it will always return null. Attached is a really short guide which tests it out, but is basically this:
The behavior to reproduce:
1. Start guideme from start.bat
2. Open tease
3. Checking jscriptlog it works correctly, see the array and the length
4. File -> Open, pick the guide
5. Crash, checking the log, lines is returned null.
Any successive file-> opens will keep producing null. If you restart guideme by shutting down, it keeps working that first time.
If you remove the audio call, the restart guideme, it works every time.
The behavior was present if I was using the override function or the standard XML audio tag.

Re: GuideMe (TeaseMe v2.0): BETA Thread
GuideMe and TeaseMe both look for a page called start, the tease does not have a page called start so it errors trying to load it.frankendude wrote:I'm making a tease for myself using the offline teaseme editor, like I have done several times before and for some reason I cannot get guideme to load this xml file.
