I suggested this before but it was in a thread about censorship so I'm not really sure what the Mods thought of it. I've found it's a pretty common feature on a lot of forums I frequent regardless of thier particular content focus. There is a stickyed post that is on the top of al forums with a titlel like "Read First" or "Posting Guidelines". It's usually a locked thread of one post where a Moderator outlines what is and is not acceptable to post, what will get deleted or locked, and what will get you banned or warned. Also if some topics are considered off limits.
I'd write one, but it's probably not really my place as I'm not a moderator.
I think it would help new users feel more comfortable starting threads, and would help them to not start ones that will get locked or deleted. So they won't start out on the wrong foot.
Thoughts?

I like this idea, and would make something like that now, but:
1. I'm not sure the software seraph0x wrote for the forums allows it currently
2. The general philosophy of this place, other than "explore your sexuality," seems to be "have fun" and "speak freely." It's by design that there aren't many rules. It's only when there's a real problem (spammers, trolls) that moderators have to step in.

Milovana had taken pride for not needing a set of posting guidelines, expecting only common sense and courtesy, trusting its users to do the right thing. Don't see what much has changed since then, as the only thing that has and still is systematically getting locked or deleted are the looking-for-mistress threads.
Personally I'd like to keep it the way it is, for sake of simplicity and preserving the team's trust in its users.

I think we 'police' things here fairly well already
It would be annoying to have remiders of how to's everywhere.
Also,
1. who would pay attention to the notes anyway
and
2. How can we enjoy laughing at the "looking for someone to dominate me, have my own pet gear" posts?
Anyway
My vote (even though its worth as much as points on Who's Line) is keep things the way they are.

Re: Stickyed Posting Guildelines accross all Sub Forums
Well I always look for a post like that when I come to a new forum.
Besides there are rules that exist, because the moderators apply a standard to the posts. Instead of laughing at, or getting annoyed at new people who get them wrong. I think it's better to have them spelled out. It's not an issue of trust. If I was new to the site I might not really understand why a looking for mistress post would get locked/deleted pretty quick.
I guess I can see how it might be annoying to have the post on the top of every forum, but I think they just blend into the background once your used to the site.

Timshell,
I was trying to make light of some of the posts (joking)
But you are correct. As a new visitor to this website It is easy to see
why someone assumes this is an 'ask for a dom' site
Often reactions to those posts are anything but welcoming,
Which is disheartning.
Perhaps we could put something as a welcome message?
That way it would not be stickied to every post
Welcome to Milovana a site to explore your sexuality. (looking at the home page I think this might be appropriate- it is only a suggestion)
HOW TO GET STARTED
Please exlpore our site and check it out. You may want to look at our classis(link) or give us your opion in Forums (link) remembering we are not a dating site we ask that until you get to know us that you refraim from asking for a dom in forums. Please explore our latest teases with the browser (link) and feel welcome to even create your own tease with the editor (link)
Hmm, a bit rough but perhaps others could contribute to what they would think would be both welcoming
and appropriate?
