Common image formats used by adult picture industry

Hello, a quick question if anybody knows. Anything besides ".jpg" is used by adult industry for creating picture sets? Let me know if there are other common extensions.

Seriously? First time hearing of .bmp photos. Which studio does it? It'd be so ineffective I can't believe it.

Agree on the BMP, it's a toy-like file format with little support besides Windows, weird issues (bottom-to-top image orientation anyone?) and a very simplistic compression algorithm. Not at all suitable for high-res photos.

As for other formats (not being a photography expert nor having anything to do with porn industry), I would guess PNG, TIFF and RAW might be used. This might also be helpful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_ca ... le_formats

Since they photoshop most of the files, probably Photoshop's PSD, too.

PSD stands for PhotoShop Document file, and is actually a photoshop project file that holds recent changes to the image. It weights a whole ton and noone in his right mind would post the file for the users like that. Not to mention that PSD is not recognized by some viewers, so it's not a get-and-view format.

p.s. it's a guideMe project that is intended to be highly customizeable by every user. Everything from tasks to pictures to texts - you can add your own. And the flow of the game would be like a chastity contract - each day you visit her, get your doze of teasing, and then your fate is decided. You can configure how long you are to be teased, denial lengths, even if she'll increase your denial periods over time.

Nothing wrong with bmp - for the correct purposes. Bitmaps where never designed to be compact and transportable.

All down to priorities really.

jpeg is by far the most common image compression used for transportable photos these days. Why is other options of interest?

One thing tho: The porn industry has no different requirements or approach to image formats than anyone else...

The interest is because I need to sort out image files from anything else that may be in the folder. For the tease.

Use .png if you're uploading stuff online or it's going to be viewed in a browser. It's a great mix of quality and size.

I don't use anything. I need to know picture formats USED BY adult industry when they are creating picture sets.
