I think I just had a premonition of the future of CH. This is probably a few years away, but I was sitting here thinking, what if somebody were to make a CH like this that allows you to plugin whatever music you like, and then auto-detects the beat and syncs the audio accordingly?

I mean, obviously, this is a technical possibility, and for all I know, there may even be an existing example of it. It wouldn't be a simple video file, though, there's have to be some kind of tracking code embedded into the file (or files).

But using that framework, it would be possible to make a "make your own CH" engine which allows users to drag-and-drop video and audio and edit it with a simple interface.

The more I think about it, the more this sounds like a plugin; something you'd run inside Premiere or After Effects. But what I'm thinking of would streamline the process, making anybody with basic video editing skills capable of producing decent quality CH videos.

Only I'm a designer, not a programmer, and I have NO idea how to make something like that a reality.

@tommyfilth, interesting idea. Syncing the video is two steps - going through and setting keyframes on every stroke, and then moving the keyframes to match the audio. I almost made a script to do the move - this is part of what you were talking about I think. Then there's a plugin for AE to find the beat; these could work together in some way.

Glad you liked it! Yes with the sound I was hoping to make it more challenging by pushing you closer, instead of beat difficulty.

There wasn't a sound track as such. I pulled a lot of audio from GWA and did some editing & other post production. The larger parts were from eves-garden, idfkwhatimdoing, katanonym, mymagichands, pumpkinplz, thisisaburneraccount, and yourlilslut. Was there one part in particular you were curious about?

I think your concept is great and your editing is really good, but the beats really weren't challenging...I think you really did an awesome job with this but i had to stop half way cause i was so bored...skimmed through the rest and apparently it was the same.
Please do another one in the future with really hard and fast sustained beats ! Also, the GWA material you selected was great, i love these, but it was very monotone, always the same level of arousal and excitement, which completely defeats the purpose imo because after a while it just becomes plainambient noise with no meaning, no surprise, no high tension situations, no contrasts basically.
Sorry if that came out harsch, but I felt like someone needed to tell you that. Don't be mistaken though, I really admire the quality of your work, it was just a matter of personnal taste after that.

@redno, no worries on being harsh - always glad to hear feedback. Especially on varying the level of difficulty/arousal. Really good point.

@catchall, love it "arm being torn off" is how I feel after some of the other CH's. Some guys must have a special weightlifting exercise (or something ) to be able to keep up with the 4x beats.
