1/2 stroke. If you play with a fleshlight, any faster is impossible/not as fun.

In the absence of instruction, I do 1 beat = up and down. But I have no preference. If instructions are provided, I simply follow them.

I tend to follow "each beat is a full stroke" unless instructed otherwise. The only exception is if the stroking speed is so fast that it's clear the video creator intended for it to be half strokes (or is insane) because I simply cannot move my hand fast enough to do full strokes.

with the insane beats i just go as fast as i can, as usually that's anyway what it amounts to

I've played Mindwarp and a few other videos with half strokes, but I always default to full strokes unless the beats are too fast.

The reason I'm curious is not all creators specify exactly expect a few (boobe's Babes series comes to mind). It's not stated in 'the rules' that are present at the beginning of any particular challenge.

There was rumor of a CH type video that was supposed to be for fleshlights, but the one round that was uploaded didn't have a meter. It would be awesome to get a video that instructs when to go in and out, up or down, full or half, etc. (especially one made for use with a fleshlight)!

Using lube, fleshlight, or raw determines how I play. Again, creators don't specify any of these very often either. Sometimes I'll shoot for 3 or 4 rounds dry then add lube for an increase in pleasure. I wish creators would specify this as well; how they prefer you to play. That's what this is about for me. If I want to be creative, I'll just watch porn. I like the concept of being told EXACTLY how to stroke it, with no question about whether I'm doing it the way the creator intended.

i also suspect many creators only really know how they feel masturbating and can't really properly attempt to guess, anyway, to relate to whether one uses lube or no lube or other methods unless the creator is so versatile (even then the sensations and sensitivity probably is not universal and one person, for example, will find lube counter-productive while another finds it overwhelmingly orgasm-=inducing), so, more i think of it, the more i think it's probably not going to work well for creators to try to figure out and probably best as it stands

I never masturbated with lube, and always assumed I wouldn't like it. That said, when I played through andyp's CH11, I decided to follow the instructions and put on lube in one round. I lasted about 15 seconds past that. To this day, I have not managed better. I still don't really like masturbating with lube normally, but I think it does add something to CH videos that specify it. I see no harm in including it; those who strongly prefer one way can simply ignore that instruction and have a mostly-unharmed CH experience.

It depends.
On easier slower ones I do each beat as an up and down.
On faster more variable beats I find it more challenging to go half stroke.

I really hate having to "stress about beats," as mentioned. I don't really get too stressed when I fail to match them, but sometimes my failure to match them is ENTIRELY due to the craziness of the creator. Either, they're unpredictably out-of-whack -- like, basically, trying to sing along with a song that I've never heard before, which means I don't know when the change is going to come along, until after it's too late to catch and match the change; and I don't want to be looking down at the bottom of the screen (or side) to be watching beat-meters while the hotness porn is on the screen, ya know!; or, they're very straightforward, but the beats are going WAY too fast (I clocked one set with my metronome-app at a bit above 340 beats per minute, where a beat meant up-and-down ((a.k.a. 680 motions!)), which basically means you are making the same number of repetitions as drumming your fingers or a slow and barely discernible drumroll sound; IDIOTIC!).

I think establishing maybe six, eight total base-rhythms (the triple; the seven-plus-a-gap; the short burst with long gaps; etc.) and running them at three rates (slow, average, rather quick), is the maximum. More than that, and I'm playing Guitar Hero or Drumset Hero rather than Cock Hero. Which I guess is fun enough, but it really takes away from the enjoyment of the cock hero part of Cock Hero.

For CH rhythms, one of my biggest pet-peeves is when beats are simply unintelligible. I can't figure out what the creator MEANS by "one one" or "one two." I mean, what's the difference? Learn some basic music. In fact, I'd like something that establishes the "norm" or base-beat, a consistent throb, FROM which the more complicated beats are then displayed to have departed. You can't just say "really fast" when one song is at a medium rate and another is faster; especially since every song's beats can mentally be sub-divided. What I mean by this last sentence is obvious to any musician: if you hear a song playing and with your own ear and head you personally identify it as quarter-notes going at 120 BPM, your neighbor could also listen along and identify it as half notes going 60 BPM and you'd both be talking about the same thing. Or, another neighbor could call it quarter notes going 240, and he ALSO would be possibly right, not analyzing too subtly the stresses of a measure. ANY properly divisible multiple of 120 would pretty much fit, given a few caveats. So, saying "one one" CAN be construed as saying "quarter quarter" OR "half half" and thus getting 120 or 60, or maybe 240, or 480, within reason, and therefore the statement "one one" turns out to be UTTERLY USELESS unless there's also some other indicator of reference. Also, it just doesn't make sense to call a duple-meter something with three words in it. For instance, if the song is in 4/4 (and no I'm not going to give you any more of the basic music tutorial) then you simply CANNOT say "stroke one two three" without confusing people, and that really ought to be self evident. Is it half notes per digit, ONE two THREE one TWO three; or is it beats on the first three quarters and then a rest, ONE two three (shh) ONE two three; or is it quarter notes per digit, ONE two three one TWO three one two THREE one two three ONE two three one? Well? Which one? Obviously, NONE OF THEM DUH ...



So, if you're stuck with only doing words, or with doing words that have the names of numbers in them, keep in mind the following: we don't know your basis reference. Your "one one" or "one two" can be thought of as about six different speeds, all of them relatively reasonable within the context. It's more important to make sure we know what you mean, than it is to swap things up all the time just for variety's sakes.

About the beats, i like beat meters and using the "1 up and down" rule for each stroke. However a good example of very easy-to-follow beats is the stroker ace series. There are surprisingly no beat meter in these, but the creator always makes it very clear and simple to understand which beat you're supposed to follow, and when to change because he's so consistent with his on-screen indications, if that makes any sense.

Basically what i'm trying to say is, if you choose a way to do it, could be any way you like, and that you follow always the same logic and stick to it, it becomes very easy for the player to replicate without second thought what you originally had in mind.
