Queen of Venusia FB

Hey everyone, please post any and all FB on my first two flash teases here. Also, please let me know here or via PM of any "dead ends" or other errors.

This may be obvious to some of you, but this tease draws a lot of influence from lmind's fine tease, which I'm still praying will eventually get a sequel!

Since you are asking for dead ends I tested your script using philo's offline editor.

Your prologue seems to be okay, but chapter 1 has some dead ends, or pages which aren't referenced at all. Cause I don't understand your idea behind naming your pages I'll just post the "error log" so you can check which pages work as intended or need a fix:

No glitches, you just need to play through every encounter, it is very long and some may find it tedious...

I also completed it without encoutering any glitches.

My thoughts on the tease:

1) I really liked the explore option as a design choice, so you don't have to repeat the encouters.

2) I found it far too easy! I would prefer more of a challenge.

3) I loved the choice of models. Although (see No.2) I would have loved too see some moder of some of them (mostly the oracle and the princess in the cave)

4) Great tease. Thanks for your hard work

I agree with most of the above. Also, I would have liked a little more build up in terms of each stroking encounter. For this reason, I suggest adding things like timers and metronome-based stroking. If you've played the Twisty's Day 5 by troyan, that's an excellent example of a different environment tease that includes maze like aspects as well as metronome based stroking. Imo it also helps you feel like you're less in control. The story aspect was good, and I really felt like I could immerse myself within that other world. That sort of immersion aspect helps with the "feel" of a tease and helps me get in the right frame of mind for the stroking sections.

I completed the Prologue and Chapter 1 so far. Fun tease, hornbound! I, too, liked the Explore option which thereby allows you to move smoothly through the setting without repeating encounters (unless you want to). I also liked the cross-references, hints, and few "ambient" encounters that don't lead to stroking, etc.

There are some pretty great "easter eggs" in there, like:

I love it when teases include little fun stuff like that. :-)

My purely personal preference is for a timer once a Stroking section begins, rather than clicking buttons. It's mainly a logistical thing (hands are busy!). But it's also a challenge thing, since you could theoretically cheat encounters by clicking through them quickly. So a timer (perhaps combined with an "Edging" breakaway button) is just my personal preference.

This is a fantastic start for a tease series. I have not really played it through all the way, but merely perused it a bit last night and tonight. I agree with many of the positive comments here. From what little I have seen, the model choices are very appealing, and the general theme is very entertaining. I think the only critique I can offer at this early stage is a version of what others have said with regard to timers versus advance buttons. There can be room for both. I agree that looking at teases by the author 1885 and quite a few others could provide some good suggestions for how it could be handled. The methods he (1885) uses to advance the story, and advance the tease, are among the most effective for me from any author on this site.

Having said that, I really want to encourage the creativity of the author here! Well done and thank you for your efforts! Don't let anybody tell you otherwise: You've done good work here. Take the time to get the other parts in the series the way you want them. But don't let the series go on too long. I'd rather see a series of different adventures in this sort of realm than to have the same adventure go on and on.

I am going to have to think for a while about how many timers to include in future flash teases. I've never liked timers much, and I often find that when I'm playing a flash tease I keep a second browser open to another tease or some other porn so that I can switch around when I get to a long timer. In fact, my decision to include the one long timer with an alternate ending in Princess Orelia's cave was a vague allusion to this: for me, a long timer can easily turn into an early end for a tease, because I just don't have the patience.

But, it is obvious that my tastes are in the minority in this regard, and certainly some of my favorite flash teases use timers in ways that I can at least tolerate. So, right now I am thinking that in future teases some of my longer and more intense "stroking encounters" will get timers, while the bulk of the tease will use continue buttons so that people can go through them at their own pace.

I think a good "Golden Rule" is to make exactly the kind of tease that you would want to play. If you like teases a certain way, for your own good reasons, then chances are high that many other people also like them that way. So while constructive feedback is valuable, staying true to yourself is priceless. Integrate whatever feedback you want, and leave the rest. As long as you love what you're making, your passion will shine through. imho.

I too tend to get bored with teases. It usually happens on ones that are more story based and require a lot of text reading. One way I've found to keep my metronomes from being boring is to make the timers quicker. For example, I might use a 20 or 25 second timer for a screen and then change beat patterns and images. I find 20-25 to be ideal. 30 is ok but longer than that and it's an issue.

I loved this tease a lot. I made this account just so i could say that, that and to suggest adding a bit of punishment to the game, like some light cbt. I really enjoy teases that actually offer a bit of tangible punishment for doing the wrong thing. Thanks for the tease and keep up the good work!
