I'm tired of making beats in hammerhead and aligning them in Audacity. Sure, it has become easy over time with experience, but I know FL Studio is *much* easier if you know how to use it. Also, a lot more precise with alignment. As I've learned, the Audacity/Hammerhead route is the difficult way to go about it. Unfortunately the UI of FL Studio is stupidly confusing.
I've spent the past 5~ hours watching youtube tutorials in FL Studio, but its only made me frustrated after attempting to do something as simple as listen to a song mp3 simultaneously while I insert a beat line over it.
Could someone please make a short tutorial and put it on youtube for the community's benefit?

I'm using that with the "SP1 patch", though SP2 patch is out now and I'm not sure whats different.

Yeah FL studio is really my personal favorite for the title "bad usability". Many features are at different places than they use to be in other programs. Some features are really well hidden, like someone don't want them to be used.
I never found out how to use beat patterns created in one project in another. I ended up reusing one template file. For my current project I had a song which had tempo changes. Maybe possible to work with that in FL studio, but I didn't find out how. I ended up working on parts of the song and afterwards putting them together again.
But since it's really a lot faster and easier to make beats with FL studio I kept using it.
I've heard of a program which may be an alternative, but I had no time to try it out yet. I'll let you know if I find something better.
