I am unaware of a post that asks directly the following question (though there probably is one, I just can't find it):
Are there any others who must completely hide the side of their personality that you are free to express here on Milovana?
For example, I was raised in a fairly religious home (I grew up Mormon). I still attend church every Sunday and even have responsibilities there I must fulfill each week. I married a Mormon girl who is as devout as any other. My older brother is inactive and lives a very un-mormon lifestyle (drinks, smokes, curses, lives w/ his gf, etc.) but even he wouldn't understand a lot of the kinks and fetishes that are present here. Everyone I associate with is either religious or conservative in their views on sex. In other words, the only people who know about this side of my personality are people who I know only as a screen name and avatar.
Are there any others in the same situation? If so, do you plan on keeping everything secret? If you don't, how do you plan on breaking the news to everyone?
Personally, I plan on keeping everything secret for the foreseeable future. It means lying through my teeth, and sometimes I feel like saying fuck it all, but I can't bring myself to hurt everyone around me by 'coming out.'

Re: A Private Question
Talking about sexual fetishes is something most people wouldn't discuss with friends and family even if they were amongst the most liberal un religious of people.
Why?
Because its a private matter and none of their business. Being kinky isn't something you should "come out" about because it's perfectly normal and nothing to be at all ashamed about (nor is being gay btw). That is the problem with conservative religious communities, if you are different you're judged and perceived as a deviant freak without them ever trying to understand. Mormons don't expect to be judged about wearing their temple garments but I guarantee they'll judge you based on your sexual interests. What's the point in telling people?
