SC, there is a big difference to going through other authors' work, not knowing what's around the corner, compared to writing your own fantasies. The latter is completely unrewarding if you seek to live out that fantasy rather than just providing it for others.
It's like comparing being a roleplay player vs game master. Two entirely different things.
And that's why I'm a bit tired of all these "If you can't find it, write it" replies that pop up every so often.
