Good to hear that there are some new videos coming! Really looking forward!

I like the idea of a creator-datatbase. You could anounce a certain theme and start to collect suitable (HD) footage. Everybody could upload footage and stuff he'd like to see. As a creator, you'ld have lots of material to work with and wouldn't have to search for HD-material for hours.
In my case, this would really speed things up. It could also help to keep certain standards, like beat-meter, which I was unable to create for my video.

Donnations are no bad idea, but in my opinion collecting money brings things closer to going pro.Of course, you could rent an HD-camera, pay some actresses and record whatever you like. But could a "community" collect enough to pay for the kind of girls/action most of us want to see in a CH?

I thought about shooting some material by myself since I have pro camera skills, but it would rather be some voyeur/street-footage. Not quite sure about it.....

However I believe there could be a way to appreciate hard work of authors by volunteer donations.

I don't know how this could be incorporated (or if it needs to, so many of us just do this for love of doing it!) but I post all my material over at Empornium. A quick explanation of how the site works is that it's a torrent sharing site dedicated to porn. You have to register, and maintain a ratio of uploaded:downloaded in order to be able to keep downloading. There are little perks that you get for having a higher ratio, lots of uploaded torrents, excessive amounts of upload (1.0 TB+), etc. While you upload, you earn credits based on how many torrents you are seeding per hour and those credits can be used to adjust your ratio by lowering your download amount, freeleech a torrent, doubleseed a torrent, forum bling, among other things.

You can also gift your credits to other users.

I have received numerous, totally random, donations of credits and automatic ratio adjustments (-10gB off as an example) from users who appreciate the video(s), as their way of saying thanks. It's great for building up a sense of appreciation for the work you've done and benefits you as far as maintaining your ratio or being able to "buy" bonuses with credits.

I've felt for a while that the genre needed a place all its own and someone just needs to do it. I know some of the original creators were on milovana before and are active members of the community but for the rest of us it feels like Cock Hero is just a bastard stepchild to the rest of the forum.

There's a couple of reasons I feel this way myself. First of all is just the different tastes between most of the CH viewers and the rest of the milovana community. I can only speak for myself but I'm much more vanilla than some of the other creators even, which are in turn more vanilla than the rest of this forum.

I also think that there has been a gradual slide toward reward based rather than denial based CH. My work included. I've never been into tease and denial. This is another big divergence from the original feeling of milovana. <snip>

As for progress, I do have some rounds complete. I also have all my music picked out and most of my beats done. I'm going with more of a themed version than the just straight sex of Fail #1. Not one overall theme, but themed rounds much like vs. I'm actually pretty excited to see it when it's done. The first couple rounds are pretty cool.

I'm with everyone who has said they're glad CH has not gone pro. When I finally got into the genre, I realized that other fans had finally done something I never knew I wanted: edit erotica/porn into something meant to enhance the experience. As someone put it in another thread, porn has gotten boring *not* because of the video quality or directors' skills, but because most scenes go on for a long time with lots of footage that doesn't add much to stimulation. CH is made by fans for fans, with many tastes--most of them relatively vanilla, sure--represented. Even when I don't like a particular release, I appreciate that the creator put a lot of time and effort into making it. And like regular porn, people have indeed been getting better at it. Compare early CH vids--really good stuff--to the more recent releases, and you see how much creators have learned from each other.

If someone takes CH to another forum or site, fine; I'll follow. I don't care where it is. I just want it to continue to be a labor of love (and lust, duh). Once it goes pro, it gets excessive, typically.

The most ironic thing about CH is that it kinda takes porn back to where it was in the 70s through 90s: short, fast stimulation, lots of heat.

I totally see CH going pro... imagine a studio like Vivid releasing a DVD filled with scenes and the ability to customize the metronome... it would have presets and challenges but would allow complete customization... I think it is a matter of time.

I'm pretty sure alchemi183 hit the nail on the head on why CH will never "go pro".
There's just no money in it for the producers. The amount of work that will need to go into making one will never make enough money back from selling them. Especially compared to the normal videos.

In addition to that there's of course the whole Guitar Hero & music royalties etc. So my bet is that the CH style videos will stay community created for the forseeable future.
