I've been watching the Star Trek Voyager series again lately. Nice shot of the Enterprise yes. They often tend to hide their starships in stellar phenomenons when on the edge of destruction.

I really enjoyed Voyager, though not anywhere near as much as DS9. I think they had too many similar story lines and relied a little bit too much on the Holodeck, that's not to say it wasn't a great series though. There were some really good episodes. I should dig out my dvds and have a watch.

In what way do you perceive DS9 and Voyager to have similar story lines?

I started to like DS9 as soon as the conflict with the Dominion started to unfold and then a full scale war.

I agree both generations relied more on their tech yes. In some dangerous moments during the Voyager saga it would even have been logical to let for example Doc to the work. Some environments are not hazardous to him.

Thanks for considering at least the question Banquo! As you probably can imagine, i picked this one from the 'unfit category' on my list of questions. I felt my heart beat in my throat when releasing the question on the forum topic. This is definitaly one out of my confort zone. I had some other questions as well, but the answers would have been either too obvious or more comfortable to ask. And some questions can only be answered open. Those you cannot have them answered by a yes/no, even when trying to reformulate them.

Sorry to have put you in this delicate situation. And yes, because of the hair dye, it made me wonder what else. And for you the same as for your lovely Della: You don't have to answer my question. This one might naturarly fall under the veil of privacy.

And thanks again for not punching me either.

Well I meant that Voyager was similar to TNG. The Domion war was epic, I'm not sure anything can beat the Dominon Cardassian alliance for villains in Star Trek. One thing I can't forgive Voyager for is the over use of the Borg, it really took the sting out of them as a villain.

Similarities between TNG and Voyager. Yes sir! During Voyagers travel home they do a lot of away missions and survey. But that is basically what they do and like. The main difference is Voyager is cut off from logistic lines, safe havens/starfleet territory etc. They have to find those on their own.

They have turned the Borg into less of a villain, haven't they?! Maybe the makers of series really wanted them out there crossing Borg space. In TNG Q hinted Picard to the (still) distant danger of the Borg.

Haha! You've almost single handedly boosted us to topic page 375. Only Q would have done better for the obvious reasons of being omnipotent. We ain't even sunday and we are back on track.

I know they had to basically sew her into it. And the Borg were always going to show up in Voyager, they were in the way of her getting home, I just think they were too soft, Voyager got off lightly imo. The best thing about episodes like Q-Who, and Best of Both Worlds, was the fact that the Borg were virtually unstoppable.
