As to your advice there is a small problem, in that I don't own/use lube. So I have been basically sucking my thumb to get it wet. So I don't have any lube.. unless you would allow me to try to use toothpaste as lube one time (and perhaps keep using it if I can still get near the edge with it)?

You really do not want to use toothpaste for this, and not as often as you will probably need to use it. One it doesn't work as a lube..it is basically the opposite, Two it won't have the desired effect I want, and Three, or possibly a c) or one of those little (iii)'s...It will not be good for your skin to use it this much. I would suggest you get some lube, it's cheap, handy, and available everywhere.
