Not sure what is so surprising about me having a One Direction song, given all the other stuff I have. It is also a good song, and I like the lyrics.

And here is my next 10:

2. Soul Decision - Faded
3. Cute is What We Aim For - Risque

8. Barry Louis Polisar - All I Want is You (Juno Soundtrack)
9. Smash Mouth - Than the Morning Comes
10. Matchbox 20 - Crutch
Datta. Dayadhvam. Damyata.

"To anyone who has stood at someones side and looked into the abyss and found both charm, attraction and love, for we are not made up only of our light and happiness but also our darkness and sorrow. To deny the darkness of yourself is to deny half of who you are, and when you love, truly love, you need to love the whole person not just the part that smiles and waves, but the part that thinks murderous thoughts and knows that pain is both pleasure and temptation, but still thinks puppies are really cute" -LKH

Hmm, why not...

So, kind of weird, but I absolutely loved 3 tracks out of 10 on Banquo's list, while turned the rest off after less than 30 seconds since they either bored or annoyed me with no middle ground between the two reactions. The ones I loved are 1, 8, 9. The favourite is The Sound of Drums from Chameleon Circuit. I haven't heard of them before, so yo yeah, thanks for introducing them I guess. :-)

1. Firewater - The Vegas Strip (couldn't find it on YT :-( )
2. Ayreon - The Fifth Extinction
3. Ayreon - Liquid Eternity
4. Nox Arcana - Descent Into Madness
5. Kawai Kenji - Virtual Crime
6. E.S. Posthumus - Antessa
7. Kalafina - overture (a piano cover, since I couldn't find the original)
8. Trobar De Morte - Tierra De Hadas
9. Quimby - Unom (fyi, this is a Hungarian track, "unom" roughly means "I'm bored with..." in Hungarian and the track is about being bored with life and everyday occurrences)
10. Trobar de Morte - Secret People

This set was easy: Johnny Cash all the way. That entire album this track is from is just beautiful really, especially Hurt, which is probably the most deeply moving song I've ever heard. But Personal Jesus is a good one too.

As for Doctor Who, I have heard of the series quite a few times, since most of my favourite reviewers on TGWTG happen to be fans of it, but I haven't actually watched it. Although it might be bold to state this without even giving it a chance, but it always seemed to be way too... silly, for the lack of better word, for my tastes.

Nox Arcana is a peculiar duo: they are maing "covers" for pieces of literature. I especially love the covers they made for Lovecraft stories.

1. Tommy Tallarico - Poeta
2. Die Apokalyptischen Reiter - Riders on the Storm
3. Jocelyn Pook - La Blanche Traversée
4. Kawai Kenji - Type 2052 "Hadaly"
5. Moray Eel - Enemy of Christ
6. Volbeat - Making Believe
7. Kawai Kenji - Etorofu
8. Jocelyn Pook - Forever Without End
9. Sabaton - The Art of War
10. Virrasztók - Sirató One my all time favourite songs from one of my all time favourite bands. "Sirató" roughly means "mourning song" (or trenodia, if I can believe my dictionary.)

The American recordings are very bitter sweet touching albums. Some of my favourite CDs.

It is on the more frivolous end of the Sci-Fi Fantasy spectrum. I would say it is "fun" rather than silly. It does have an underlying current of seriousness though. Worth you checking out imo.

I may need to check them out eventually. Now as for your last list, I liked.. Tommy Tallarico as well as both Jocelyn Pook tracks. To be honest most of your list was pretty cool.

1. You Never Can Tell - Chuck Berry.
2. Sign Off - Cliff Eidleman (Star Trek VI the Undiscovered Country OST)
3. Beachball - REM
4. Video Games - Lana Del Rey
5. One Tree Hill - U2
6. Missing you - John Waite.
7. The Frail - Nine Inch Nails
8. Papagenu - Tenacious D
9. Summer Time - Sex Bomb-om
10. Raindrops + Sunshowers - Smashing Pumpkins
