Hello there,
years ago I was introcuded to the practise of giving myself an enema before anal play. At first I was ordered to do it, but soon I discovered that I liked it. I felt clean and I ddin't have to worry about something popping out, which made it easier to unclench. So it became part of my cleaning routine when I prepared for a session.
But at one point it became more than just a sexual preperation act. Months ago I was eating crappy food all week, due to a tight shedule, which resulted in hard blockage. I wanted to go to the pharmacy to get some pills, when the Idea of an enema popped into my head. "If its hard and dry, maybe the water will make it wet and slippery." And yes it worked wonders!
I began to use it more and more, but enough backstory, I'm kind of at the point now where I give myself an enema every other day. About 1/2 to 3/4 liter of normal warm water, keeping it in about half an hour and it just flushed out, clean and efficient. I feel great. I never have to worry about blockage or long bathroom breaks during the day, as I can control when I clean myself.
But I began to wonder if there is a downside ... is there such a thing as too many?
I don't use any substances or special mixtures, no tea or soap. I've read that those do have negative effects when used regulary. But I couldn't find anything about clean normal water.
So anyone an idea of how many is too much?

You should also read this and the entire article for that matter.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enema wrote:An enema may also be used prior to anal sex or anilingus in order to enhance the sensation of intercourse, or to remove feces prior to sex, possibly reducing bacterial transmission and risk of infection, or just to reduce the possibility of fecal material or detritus from sexual activity adhering to the genitals or sex toys used during the subsequent activity. Enemas used for anal sex should not be used consistently and enema bottle contents should be removed and replaced with simple luke-warm water. Continual usage of enema solution may be harmful for the anal cavity.
Keep it simple, Stupid!

If you simply use water the enemas themselves won't hurt you in any way
On the other hand if you clean your colon too much the normal bacterial flora wild be disturbed and since they are responsible for a large part of your vitamine uptake you could after time develope a deficiency.
On top of that, disturbing the normal flora might also cause one type of bacteria to get too strong and cause a serious infection of your colon
in short, in itself it is a good thing just don't do it too often, once every 3 or four days should not be harmfull
