I have experimented with self-bondage some and first of all, BE SAFE! A back-up plan is a must.

Having said that, there are some fun was to go about this. Locking is usually the easy part. I have used some smooth chain that I purchased at a home improvement or hardware store, and loop the chain around my wrist and lock it into place before I get bound. Basically create a cuff out of the chain that is cut to length to fit my wrist including the key lock. Then, to bind my wrists, I tie a rope around the bed mattress so it is near the top of the mattress, and I use "zip ties" to secure the chain that is around each wrist to the rope. Once I zip tie the chains, the only way to release is a key to the lock.

There are several ways to do that. I have used ice to suspend the key, and also my cell phone to hold the key on a string. The way that works is I secure a string directly above my hands (assuming I am on the bed with the chain cuffs as described above) and tie the key on the string so that is will reach my hands. I leave a few feet of string past the key as well. I set something up beside the bed that is tall. When I travel I have used ironing boards, etc.... that I pull the string away from the bed and use my phone to hold the string down. The trick is this, whatever the phone is sitting on has to be at an angle so the phone barely stays on without sliding off. I have used magazines as they are slick, or something similar. You put the string under the phone and set the phone to vibrate. When the phone goes off, because it is at an angle and barely sitting still, the vibrations cause the phone to move, slide off the book, releasing the string which swings back down to your hands. You can set an alarm on the phone, or have someone you trust actually call the phone at an unknown length of time!
