I can explain to people the Copenhagen interpretation, the effect of gravity on time and space or what Temperature is.
But as knowing how things work is nice, it is calculating how thing work that make it usefull (darn) . As those calculations can become rather an abstract issue.

Note, those calculations are what developed quantum mechanics, as Planck used the " Boltzmann's statistical interpretation of the second law of thermodynamics", as what he later on would describe to be "an act of despair ..."

It's not something i'd normally do...but in your circumstance, in order to take control of you, i'd have you write a few things down on a piece of paper:
-Your Mother/Father's name, address, and phone number.
-The name, address, and phone number of your employer and your boss' email addy.
