I notice that some people voted for this tease after about 10 minutes. Even though it is asked in the tease not to vote if you didn't do it properly. In the tease is a waiting period of one hour... Got the picture?

Not that I was planning on going for the tease of the month, but please, do it or don't vote!

That's true. I noticed when I put my teases out that they got some votes immdiately. There's no chance these people did the tease, but that's by the by. My last tease had very low ratings at first, but when I looked the next day it had gone up to a rating of 4.2, so don't worry. Once the voting gets going, you'll get a more accurate impression.

I rather have 2 votes that did the tease and tell me i sucked then 2000 votes of people who just read it and vote 5/5.

I hear you. But I dont think it's so important. Hundreds of people will look at the tease - you can't expect them all to be thoughtful.

I see what you mean Miss Tira. Now I hope to have feedback, what they liked about it and what they didn't. But that will hoping in vain I guess...

I think every author would rather only get votes from people that actually do the tease, but it's just not going to happen. I've tried to think of ways to get that result, but I've not come up with anything. If you have any ideas, feel free to post them in the Suggestions forum.

Personally, I don't vote for a tease until I've at least tried it. If I can't finish it, I'll read through the rest of it and give it a vote.

This brings up a point that I am so sure about. I am not so sure that an author wouldn't mind a rating by someone who did not "do" the tease. I mean, I know the point is to DO the tease but there is something to be gained by just reading through them also. I read through a lot of the teases, most of them I do not "do" . I rate the ones that inspire me in someway.

If the rating is meant only for people doing the teases I suppose I could stop doing that, I am just not so sure that that the rating is just for the people doing the teases.

Perhaps some others can clarify this.

I stopped worrying about it a long time ago. People will do what they will do. I know that many more people view the teases than ever vote on them.


I do notice that, as evening rolls around in various parts of the world, the voting becomes harder or easier.

Based on my observations...and that is all they are...and assuming an evening viewing time (say 6pm - 11pm)...I find Western Asians and Eastern Europeans to be the toughest critics.

Things tend to lighten up, rating wise, with the Western Europeans (not ignoring Africa, just haven't seen much evidence of an African presence on the site) and the Western Hemisphere.

The Asian/Aussie votes seem pretty positive, too.
