Joint Author Project - Hell Hath No Fury

Post by The Edge 2.0 »

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to announce this new tease series, Hell Hath No Fury. This ongoing series will be somewhat unique, as it will be an alternating joint effort between kesbabev and myself. The first part is now up in the Webtease section, any and all feedback will be appreciated. This will be an evolving tease from start to finish, so chime in with anything you like!

We know what too many cooks do with a broth, but let's see what they do with a webtease!

A joint effort! That's a great idea.

I like it when we see somthing brand new with a webtease. Now to read part 1. Good luck with the series.

Tira demands it. And the Princess' affection couldn't hurt either. Well, it probably can.

So in summary - http://www.princesschristie.com right now.

I appreciate the vote of confidence, JP, and I certainly hope that this series can live up to all the hype. I've read on the boards before that a joint tease has never been done. Glad to be the first (second), so to speak, to attempt it. Stay tuned, this is going to be interesting!

Thank you, Miss Tira. This is my first tease, let alone my first tease series, and I will take all the luck I can get! Good luck to you as well in the current TOTM contest!
jp wrote:Wow. That was an awesome first part, The Edge! You set the bar pretty high for kesbabev, but after reading his Breaking You series I think he'll be able to write just as well. I love the story you've laid out here. I can't wait to read more of this series. Two great authors with a fantastic story to work with. This should be good. =)
Thanks, jp. kesbabev's Breaking You series was actually a great deal of inspiration for this tease, so if anything he set the bar pretty high for me! It's great to be working with him, and we'll see what happens when it's all said and done.

Thanks for your comments, both of you, they're greatly appreciated!

I went through the first one, and I have to say it was well written, even if it was a bit verbose at times. My only question is...she says she has this guy by the balls, but how? She says she's going to ruin his marriage, and he just takes her word for it. What's stopping the guy from picking her up, spinning her out of his wife's bathrobe and kicking her out of the room?

I was just reading that myself. I think we have to assume the wife doesn't trust him enough to beleive he had nothing to do with her being there.

Aaahh, Gentle Reader. All will reveal itself in time. I promise. But if we revealed everything in just one tease, where's the plot development? Isn't it more fun to ask why, and then be rewarded with the answer later? Isn't that the premise behind all good teases, and stories?

Besides, you'll see more of why the reader is under their thumb, just keep reading the teases. It gets progressively better.

(props to kes for going for the save, but I will face up to this one  )

Good question, and an amusingly ironic answer, actually.

My first draft of this actually laid out a very detailed, compelling scenario about the wife's history, how Christy is in a position to manipulate it, and the motivation to follow along with the events set in motion. I decided to axe this and just make it a thinly veiled threat for the sake of brevity because I felt it was, well...

too verbose.

Keep in mind, this is my first tease ever, and I really did the best I could with my experience to whittle away what was too extraneous, because believe me, I could talk forever if you let me, and likewise I could do the same for these characters. The last thing I wanted to do was jar anyone's suspension of disbelief, but I felt the panic of the situation would generate enough weakness in the "protagonist" to be swayed, and the more wrapped up he got in the events, the less he would question it, and I saved the reader from hundreds more words I ultimately just didn't think were necessary.

I just noticed the first two girls are named Christy and Lindsey.

Any reference to our own dear Christie and Lindsey, or is that a coincidence?

I can't speak for Kes' Lindsey, but my Christy is merely a coincidence.

Fair enough. There ought to have been a Tira one otherwise.

Definitely, truth be told I prefer the "Christie" spelling of the name, but I went with "Christy" to avoid drawing comparisons.

Another irony, I suppose.

In all honesty, none of the ladies' names are in any way related to users on this site. Actually, some of the names I am using are related to experiences from my own past relationships. Some of the ideas, too, truth be told!
