Hi all, to start with I'd just like to say that this site is awesome. However, I feel slightly bad as I can probably lay claim to being the ultimate Milovana lurker:

1) I registered within hours of the site opening in 2006 having seen it touted on OD.com

2) I then posted what is now listed as only the third tease on the site, although judging from the web address I think it was the 17th actual tease (http://www.milovana.com/webteases/showtease.php?id=17)

3) I was then flattered by the following thread in August 2006 http://www.milovana.com/forum/viewtopic ... p=110#p110

4) And finally, save for 1 solitary post in 2009, I have maintained a staunch silence for 6 years, and in the interim, upwards of a mind-bending 3,400 teases have been posted, for which I am as grateful as I'm sure everyone else is.

I wanted to make ammends for my lack of input, so have started building a sequel to my first tease, as it did kind of leave things hanging. I have a quick question about Nyx, though - is there a maximum size that it will handle? I have something of fairly epic proportions in the making, and rather than posting daily separate teases, I wanted to put it all into one file. Having browsed through the forums (and read up on Nezhul's excellent guides to building teases with Nyx) I noticed he commented that a tease could be over 1,000 pages long. Is this correct? The only reason I ask is that if there is some limit, then I will map out the narrative from the start with the intention of splitting it between teases.

If it's large you might want to consider writing it for TeaseMe (offline) rather than nyx since it apparently gives you more control and less things getting broken by magic :)

I might just be being an idiot, but I can't use the TeaseMe program at all!!

I've installed it, and run the 'tutorial' sucessfully, but I can't do anything with it.

It tells you all the things the program can do, but there aren't any instructions.

How do I create a new tease? Does the software have an interface where I can build a tease similar to the way the online Nyx software works, or is it simply something that will run .XML files that I have written the html coding for?

Sorry if I'm being a bit dim about all this....

I am not sure how "epic" your flashtease is
but It can indeed handle hundreds of pages,
I have written several falshteases over 100 pages
(1) save often
(2 once it gets over 200 pages go to the <code> section
and save it somewhere else.. just in case of truly
bad crashes, you don't need to do this again until you hit
page 500 ( I suggest txt saving)

You may not know this but when first launched flashtease had a 100 page limit

as for some of the oldest teases...
I noticed some of the other originals here seem to have taken down their teases
I actually Miss Seraphox.. first few..teases... shrug.

I wrote a couple of teases for OD.com back in the day too. I've gone off and on writing teases. Looking back at all my ratings they've always been 3 and a couple of 4's makes me wonder why I've never been considered TOTM but se la vie...

It's awesome that there are 338 pages of teases now...probably be over 400 if not for some older authors leaving. Taking teases with them. Looking back at that thread I saw a few people that no longer post and that I miss...I really miss the old authors. Like Mike1978, Mz_Teneale, slavechyde, Jenna and a few more too.

I loved Mz_Tenales teases and oh yeah forgot about Little_Lily really liked her style as well. I followed her 1st and only teases to the letter.

But anyways its always good to have some fellow old school blood posting teases again...have fun
