Yeah, some of the same issues - the main one being the SQL error of too many connections. I'm browsing through the forums ok and webteases load up a bit slowly, but not too bad.Indigo™ wrote:I've been noticing some increasing delays in opening pages on the site. Earlier today (approx 5:00pm, PST), I couldn't log in at all - SQL error - Too many connections. Switching from webteases to the forum takes 10-15 seconds, and clicking forum threads out of the top five listed on the weteases page takes forever. I ran a bandwidth check, and I'm running 6.05/5.93MB/sec, so I doubt it's my speed. Updated the browser, flushed the cache, reregistered my DNS settings, everything I could do on my end, to no avail. I've even tried on different computers, with varying results always to the negative.
Any idea what's going on? Are others having similar issues?

Re: Site performance issues
Getting around on Milo just takes ages for me compared to other sites, like fetlife.
Sometimes it goes back to being normal speed though.
And I haven't experienced any time-outs or errors.

Re: Site performance issues
Alright, I'm having some REAL spotty performance today.
At times, I'm whizzing by in the forums and browsing the site pretty fast. But in the past 30 minutes, it's taken almost 10-15 seconds to load the forums and - when trying to make some text corrections in my Flashtease in Nyx, I'm getting Error messages after long load times. Not sure if Nyx and the normal Milovana website are anyway connected, but figured I should mention it all the same.

Re: Site performance issues
We've had load issues on the servers for both regions over the last couple of days. They seemed fine earlier in the months, so I'm not sure why they are struggling now. I'll try to find some more performance optimizations etc. that we can do.

It's usually fine for a few hours after a server restart, the problem is that it starts to stumble during a traffic spike and never quite recovers until I restart it again.Banquo wrote:The site seems to be zipping along nicely now
I just submitted a ticket on that with the hosting company, hopefully they'll sort it out soon.Banquo wrote:but chat is still not working

I almost felt asleep while page was loading. Come on!
Re: Site performance issues
Yes, it's this issue.Indigo™ wrote:The site is *really* dragging today, almost 12 seconds to change from the tease page to the forums. Ping and tracert show unusually high figures.
Any clue what's going on, or how to correct it?
Right now it isn't affecting performance, normal use of that feature is fine. What would be bad is if a) bots/crawlers started picking up that page or b) there was a DoS attack against that page. (And I hate publicly giving people a howto guide on how to attack the site, but given that we're always running almost at capacity, a DoS attack against *any* page would probably do the trick quite easily anyway.)Indigo™ wrote:Edit: The problem seems to have increased since the inception of that link on the chat page. Any possibility that's the cause? You (Seraph0x) mentioned that having something like that could affect site performance at one point.

It seems to be running much better, at the moment. *Smile*

Yep, it's good atm! Now I can actually take my time now and brows some forums normally! I better get to it in case it slows down again soon...
