Megaupload, one of the internet's largest file-sharing sites, has been shut down by officials in the US.
The site's founders have been charged with violating piracy laws.
Federal prosecutors have accused it of costing copyright holders more than $500m (£320m) in lost revenue. The firm says it was diligent in responding to complaints about pirated material.
I would advise you to ensure you have any files that are posted in the cloud on a file share site are backed up to physical media as well.
I feel that with the latest purges by the US much will become lost.
Many people had domestic files on MegaUpLoad, and other similar sites
am also think you should pull down and erase personal, private and confidential files from these sites.
Better safe than sorry

Lord Les Be careful what you wish for!
Growing OLD Is Inevitable,

Why do I have to stop being a KID now I can afford it.
I would love to know how the businesses know how much money they have lost.
Or is it a guess like when "lime wire" was costing the media businesses more than the GDP of the entire world.
Money is made by groups and acts performing live.
Like in the past when recording the top 20 on audio cassette resulted in massive album sales.
There is only so much money about and if you charge too much people will get it cheaper .
to make money you must produce a product at a price that people are prepared to pay.

Dont know where all te extra's suddenly came from but it looks like shutting down Megaupload in such a fashion has had the opposite effect to what they probably wanted.
If anyone bothered to read up why they were taken down instead of immediately going for their pitchforks, you would notice that mega upload was doing illegal activities and not complying entirely with DMCA takedowns.
MyFreeCams: Great free cam site! Lot of girls who love teasing!
Protip: Use https://mega.co.nz/ for uploads.
Won't need to upload it anywhere else because it doesn't have the shitty restrictions all the others have. Besides emp, some people like seeding there, so keep that.
I have downloaded tons of porn from both sites, but I am happy this is is happening.
There are now entire forums where a select group of people post links to copyrighted content (eg porn), with the explicit goal of getting users to sign up to paid filesonic etc services. This has left a bad taste in my mouth.
For torrenting, people "share" in a community sense, they dont share for money. Megaupload etc, people put stuff so that they make money when people download. Sharing is one thing, but making money off other peoples work
Federal prosecutors say data from users of Megaupload could be deleted as soon as Thursday.
U.S. prosecutors blocked access to Megaupload and charged seven men, saying the site facilitated millions of illegal downloads of movies, music and other content.
