I never tried the "broken" version, but have tried the fixed one yes.

Adding a twist to an old idea is always a good thing, like you kinda did to the red/green light style teases in this case.

Rating wise (since that apparently is so important) a red/green light tease will never score as high as the best story teases for my part. Both because of personal preference as well as recognizing the authors for their work (and in the end of the day, a long story tease where each slide is written manually takes a lot more work than setting up a picture set and a random scheme)

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice tease, but since there are other types of teases out there which have taken the author several times more work than this one, the top scores need to be reserved for that.
