I wish there were a FAQ document on software, particularly on downloading from the I-File place. It isn't reliable for me. Can someone help? Multiple files often are corrupted such that they won't "join" into a single large video for me.

I can figure out how to make my computer follow the appropriate links, which (forgive me if I'm being pedantically redundant) do successfully cause the internet to transmit a set of files across various internet connections all the way to my hard drive. I save the files on my hard drive in a properly named sub-folder, and then I go get more files until I have a whole set. There they are, all downloaded and useless. I usually can't decompress, extract, stitch together, archive, un-archive, view, fix, edit, play, or otherwise use those files.

I end up having to come back to the Milovana forum to get a link to the single-file versions of the vids that I'm interested in. Any multiple-file sets will not work for me. The single-file versions are generally disappointing, since they're also the lowest in quality but are still bandwidth and user-space hogs and seem to have been posted by Milovana's users more in order to help just a few users whose computers happen to be suffering under aberrant circumstances, rather than in order to serve the majority of a user's download interests. To me, it's a bit of a poor use of the 'net, and a bit of bad (or, fair to middling, maybe?) etiquette, to always choose only the "download this file only if you must" link. I'd like to get proper use out of the sets of bigger files.

I do understand that most RAR and PART files need to be "reconnected" to each other. I do understand that they, and ZIP and other archive files, need to be "unpacked" before using. I have installed the latest versions of WinRAR, 7-Zip, Stuffit Expander, and other file-handling and unpacking software on my computer (which is a typical Windows-compatible machine, BTW; I'm running Windows XP Home Edition, I have installed the service-packs and updates, I have tried turning on and off various settings and various protector-software like virus and malware blockers, and I am generally above-average with basic computer literacy). Nevertheless, I consistently get a "file is corrupted" (or similar) error when trying to combine a set of files that should all simply fall together effectively into a single large video.

Is this situation specific to me and my computer or, to the contrary, is my suspicion correct, that there is an unusually large number of corrupted files on the ifile.it website which Milovana users have stored for upload? I'd appreciate any help.

(I realize that I am making this my query in a now rather old thread. If users generally use the "what threads have been updated" function, then users will likely see my query and, I hope, respond to it. If I don't get responses, maybe I'll cite this query in a more current thread later. Thanks for your time and / or help!)

hMM ... problem seems to have solved itself. No recent difficulties with IFile.it for me ... hMM ...

(And, yes, it is indeed PATHETIC to i. post to an ancient thread, ii. wait sadly, all alone, for an unlikely reply on that ancient thread, iii. respond to that ancient thread, iv. worst of all, respond TO MYSELF on that ancient and otherwise dead thread. Pathetic indeed.)

I am pleased you problems seem to have been solved.
Btw ifile is the best place for free for 1 gigabyte files.
others either won't take that big or have limits on downloads.

Thanks for your comments, Les, a very helpful dude! No worries about the fact that my first inquiry was missed. If I had been utterly desperate for a response, then I would have asked in a more prominent location or sent a personal-message to one or another of the knowledgeable types (such as yourself!). But I had started to get an inkling that my idiosyncratic I-File.it problems might resolve themselves, so I let it lie for a bit.

To the contrary, I do think I'll need help on another query of mine, in the Cock Hero Randomiser thread. I'm unlikely to be unable to resolve it on my own.
