How to react to Webtease spam

Post by SexualChoc »

I am petitioning (yet again)
to remove a specific person:
[email protected]
http://www.milovana.com/forum/memberlis ... le&u=19262
teases from milovana webteases I checked and ALL teases written by this individual rate lower than 3.0

Seraph0x,
Please remove these teases

with forum spam we are allowed to petition to remove a specific individual who
is spamming or putting negative content
I know many others agree that these low teases bring down the community

Jryan:
I ask you also to remove your teases
I would be more than happy to give you tips on how to write a GOOD tease.
but for the love of Milo
STOP Spamming! with poorly written teases

Other feel free to post on this old, sore subject
that has been batted around many times
and Seraphox, in my option, has chosen to go with
Freedom of "trash" ideas/teases

Can we please not have this discussion all over again? I mean, if we had been over this only once or twice before, but c'mon... It must have been discussed and concluded on at least 5 earlier occasions, each one including a rather long and tiresome debate.

By all means, if people want to moan over this yet again (I just couldn't resist posting myself after all), who am I to tell you you shouldn't... Just don't expect any chance to this - the reasoning behind sera's stance on this is quite clear and as far as I can see, nothing has changed to suggest a change in policy either.

Granted, the amount of spam is increasing, but still, it's not like it's hard to handle - and in the end of the day, jryan's teases are every bit as much within the definition as anything else - like it or not.

Also, lets keep in mind that despite this topic being brought up over and over again, and despite "a lot" of people apparently voicing a fairly united opinion against allowing the spam to go unmoderated, still, the few people posting about this is a very small, very vocal minority of the total user mass on this site.
Yes, I most certainly CAN do it again!

I believe that in this situation the only thing left to do is to personnally write a private message to each and every user writing these spam teases politely asking them to stop and to offer them constructive advice. Publicly complaining about them to the moderators will not solve anything because they are probably just as tired of hear complaints as they are of seeing the spam teases or "SPEASES" as we could call them.

hello im nurse elise, please take off all your clothes, fold them, and place them in the corna. Once you have done that, lay down on your back and dont move. Il be back in a minute. (Wait 2 minutes) giggles...ok lets get started. She grabs your penise and jerks slow with 2 fingers. (1 minute) ok theres no problem there. Now im just going to hook up this machine. she puts a peg on each nipple. Ok now this machine will read your sex life and tell me what i need to kno, so Just relax and dont move! (3 minutes) ok all done. She rips off the pegs off realy fast from your nipples.
I am sorry but I find them hilarious :-D I assume the poster has some connection with the site offering the videos for sale? Does this alter the status of his posts?

What if someone felt this way about your teases? Who gets to decide, in a community driven entirely by user submissions, which of those submissions are worthy of being kept? You? Or should we vote on it? Ever heard of "tyranny of the masses"?

The problem here is that, while many of the forum/chat regulars agree that jryan's teases are of a very poor quality, they represent a very small fraction of milo users. Some people might enjoy them. About half his teases have a 2.0 rating or above; this means some people must be rating them at least a 3, as surely some people are rating them a 1.

A good solution (though this might be a lot of work) might be to implement the system that deviantart.com uses - you can view by "newest", which will show all submissions, starting with the most recent; or you can view by "popular", which will only show submissions which have exceeded a certain rating threshold in the past day/week/month/year.

Yes, Jryan's teases suck. But so what? If you don't like them, just ignore them. Bad content doesn't kill a site - lack of good content does.

Indigo™ wrote:Frankly, it's just a prime example of exactly what's wrong with this site. The quality of the teases has generally degraded over the course of several years, to the point that most teases center around a common theme, with little to no creativity. The posts have degraded into a bunch of inane bullshit, with little to no entertainment/informational value. The quality of the materials has gone downhill steadily, with the lack of general direction, leadership, and examples of higher standards. And I suspect, I'm not the only one who feels that way.
First, as for forum posts...they're not all like that. Look at mine for example: http://www.milovana.com/forum/search.ph ... 3&sr=posts

There's also:
http://www.milovana.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=7990
http://www.milovana.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8015
http://www.milovana.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8021
http://www.milovana.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8002
http://www.milovana.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8025

all of which are either entertaining or informative, at least in my opinion.

As for recent teases, the "Slave Co." series, while not within my personal tastes, is much better than all the teases people seem to be complaining about. They're also a bit different than most teases I've seen, as most of them involve at least one orgasm.

As for the community in general...many of the chat/forum regulars are pretty close friends. So, while the site might not currently be the best its ever been, it's not that bad.
Bottom line - if you want something to change, you have to send a message. Something loud, something that the leadership, the people in charge *can't* ignore. Something like ... I dunno ... hiding your teases from the public view while the crap teases remain. Refusing to participate on the forums while the bullshit posts continue. Seraph has stated his opinions - time for you to state, and support yours. He won't change unless someone stands up and protests. It's up to you folks. Can one person make a difference? Maybe not - but if the authors ban together, and start hiding their work as a form of protest, I guarantee, Seraph *will* do something. He won't have a choice.
As I said in my response to SexualChoc above, the problem isn't bad content, it's lack of good content. More good content will solve the problem completely; and in a user-submission model, bad content will always exist. The only thing such a protest will do is make the bad content a greater percentage of the total content. That just makes the problem worse. Not only that, even if such a protest forces Seraph to "do something", in the end it will just create ill will between him and the users which will most likely never go away. We should be working with him to improve the site, not fighting against him. Got concerns? Bring them up in a civilized manner, as I have done here. Don't try to incite a riot.
