What is your religion? I thought it would be an interesting question to ask in a sexually liberal community. I'm an atheist myself.

Atheist. Moreover I really dislike how religion affects the politics nowadays, I think it should be completely taken away from there. Pushing certain religion doctrines and morals through Polititians to the degree of laws is nonsense. I'm not against religious people as long as they are not trying to force the religion in my life.

Also I find quite strange that over time people started believeing and worshipping not to god but to church and priests.

Yeah, although this happens in few Western democracies, the notable exception being the US.

Couldn't possibly agree more. Any mixing of politics and religion is both illogical and highly undesirable. This is a problem in the west, but even more so in certain other regions.

To me, personally, I think religion borders on organized insanity.

All religion stem from one of two things, both kinda sad: human powerstruggle and human inability to cope with not understanding death, seeking comfort in fantasies. Perfectly logical, but not very wise.

My perception and opinion, nothing more.
Yes, I most certainly CAN do it again!

We definately need a

"Ding Ding Round one" forum.
I think this will head that way soon.

More wars have been fought over religion than any other reason.

Sits back in Black Tux with Dickie bow.

Interesting idea that actions, or thoughts
are effected by ones faith, or lack there of.

Very difficult to show a real relationship statistically.
also how do I self identify my faith another interesting idea
considering that inside a single church building each individual will tell you
a different way they understand their own denomination, or church!

Note to Les, yes wars and religion often happen Protestant/ Catholic, Muslim/ Buddhist
but there is often an underlying pressure of land, money, resources.
as in Catholic loss of fiances and territory over Protestant growth
Is that a religion war or one base on loss of resources?
The rise of nationalism, did Henry break away from the Catholic church because of a mistress
or the fact that he was no longer sending money to Rome, and didn't want obligations of that anyway?
can it be both and?

now lets look at the westward expanse of Muslims in to Hindi/ Buddhist territory in Afghanistan.
was this a territory grab? resources?

Japan killing and murdering all Christians because they were "westerners"
is hatred of Christianity or America? (please note america=christian is NOT an idea I agree with)

Now do I as an individual on Milovana
are my ideas posted here influenced by the fact I am an Atheist? Or Christian? or... ???
or are they affected by my character of which faith is but a part.
Very deep and interesting idea.
please note I am trying very hard not to say one way or another
because even with myself, I am unsure how faith or lack there of moves my decisions/ communication.

There was not a choice for "child of God", so I choose Christian. *Smile*

In 1979 I joined God's family. But for years and years I saw him as this being to fear, to ask things for, but most of all, some out of my grasp entity, that could smite me with a blink of an eye.

In January of 2009 I read a book called The Shack. From that point on, my relationship with God changed.
We are best buddies now....he is my best friend. We talk about everything....and yes, I do mean everything. Heck, I even consulted him about how to get this edging thing to work for me. *smile*

He has shown me some treasures that I didn't know existed.....we go through each day together...I talk about the world he has created for me. I point out my favorite cloud shapes, trees that I find beautiful.....I tell Papa jokes....and I know that I am special to him, I hear his voice, I feel his warmth, his peace and most of all his unconditional love.

*giggles at your pun on "switched".....even it you didn't mean it to be a pun*

Well, I do not like relgion....dislike it a lot I guess. Religion is man made. It's certain thoughts about God, that they put together in a neat little package, with rules and more rules.

Can someone have two Master's.....I think it's possible. For instance, if I were to own a submissive, first I would be their Mistress, and second Dr. D. would be their Master.....both of us answering to him, but only the submissive answering to two.

Here is the cool thing about my relationship with Papa, and my relationship with Dr. D., we discussed the name "Master" ages ago.....and it is a name given to him, that makes me happy to call him. He knows my relationship with Papa and knows that in the shower, I sing praises to to God, calling him Master. God knows who I am talking about, because he knows my heart. Papa also knows that when I am speaking of Dr. D. as my Master, he knows in which way I speak of him that way.

*softly smiles*

I frankly believe not a single war has been fought over religion this far in the history of mankind.

Sure, a LOT of wars have been fought over religion as a pretense, but not once with religion as the true, sole reason.

Resources, such as natural resources, people, infrastructure/material wealth, and technology are most often the real reasons. As well as a pure desire for controlling others of course - something most representatives of most religions are quite good at.

Herp derp Agnosticism is not really a form or religion or lack of one. You can't be just agnostic. Agnostic means you are unsure of what is true, but are siding with this group. So you can be an agnostic theist, which would mean you are not sure if it is correct, but are going along with the game anyways. An agnostic atheist would be someone who doesn't know what is true and decides to not believe in any religion. An atheist is someone who believes theists are plain wrong.

Key difference there people.

I always thought agnostic meant "I don't think there is a god because I have no reason to do so but cannot exclude the possibility that there is one." At least that's what I think.

I very strongly doubt that there is a god, and if there is, he/she has probably very little to do with any of the gods that religions worship.. but perhaps there is something like a god and he's just really shy and afraid of humans? Who knows?

I'm all for religious freedom (and the separation of church and state) but it saddens me to see so many politicans treating creationism/intelligent design as a valid/equally 'flawed' theory compared to evolution.

This is true; but it's a distinction most people don't recognize. You can be either an agnostic or gnostic atheist or theist. "a/theist" makes a statement about your belief, while "a/gnostic" makes a statement about your confidence in metaphysical claims. I would say that most atheists are agnostic.

In the common vernacular, though, "agnostic" just means that one is not sure whether there are gods or not, and thus takes no side. This is what I meant by including it in the poll.
