Thanks.

However, I hate to be dumb, but I don't see how you capture unless you have a device hooked up, or you import via a file.

So, for example, if you wanted to capture something from youporn.com or youtube.com or some such, I don't see how you do it because you can save those to file.

So, you need to capture them as they stream or you need to buffer them, play them, and capture them as they play.

What am I missing? Any assistance is appreciated. :)

I already use Firefox.

Installed DownloadHelper. Sweet tool!!

I picked up their player, too, and I was able to play the .flv files with no problem.

Thank you.

I've heard of a Mac utility called Mac the Ripper, which is meant to help here. But I've no direct experience, as I don't have the dvd writer hardware.

If you're on a Mac, Safari does this very easily.

Click on WINDOW>>ACTIVITY

This will open up a new window with all the web activity going on in the browser. All the files loaded (or being loaded) are listed separately.

Find the video (streaming video will usually be the only thing still loading after the first 2 or 3 seconds), and double click on it. It automatically downloads to the desktop.

You may have to add a file extension to it in order to play it. .flv for youtube files, for instance.

If you're on a PC, you can try http://www.keepvid.com . There's a program called Riva FLV Encoder that will convert FLV's to other formats. But other than that, I can't help you.

With "Axara Video Converter," there is a tab (on the bottom of the left-hand panel), that's for downloading videos. You just enter the appropriate URL and it'll search for embedded videos. For "pornHub," you'll need to "recommend" the video to your email address. Open the email, copy the link, and paste into the appropriate field in Axara. youPorn:

You'll need to find a video you want, go to the submitter's member-page, and copy the link to the video from there. Then obviously, paste it into Axara.

NOTE: There are many, many video downloader programs that have been made. Perhaps try to find a cheaper one. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but "Get_FLV" is a great program, but it only works for embedded FLV files.
