Posts with rules

There are frequent threads that have a set of rules in the starting post.
Is it possible to have that as a header on all following pages?
I see that this happens with polls.

Ok, there was a mod for it which was pretty simple and clean, so I added it. When editing the first post in a topic you should now have the option to show that post on every page.

Please use sparingly. If people abuse/overuse the feature, it'll be removed or restricted.

I just checked, it requires mod privilege. Probably a good thing.

Anyone who needs a post stickied, post the link here please. In the future you can PM me or ask a Team member, they should be able to set this as well. (Edit the first post in a thread and you should get that option.)

This feature can be useful, but it can also be very confusing, for example if the first post is very long and users might be wondering why they get the same content even though they are clicking on different pages in the thread.

So I'm going to use a few criteria to determine, whether a thread really needs its original post stickied:

• Does the first post have a special role? (stickying first posts shouldn't just be to stroke the OP's ego)
• Length of thread (should be at least five pages)
• Length of first post (should be less than a screen's worth)
• Popularity of thread (no sense updating ancient threads)

@Team members: You can use your own criteria, but please don't go around mass-stickying.

As a quick pre-emptive ruling: We won't use this feature for the TOTM posts. It's totally ok to go to the first page of the thread if you want the list of nominees.
