[GuideMe] Tease Downloader with EOS Support

Hi,

I downloaded this some time ago and it seems to work with GuideMe 4.5. I know I played it some time ago, but don't know which version of GuideMe I was using at that time.

I didn't try the newest version of Playfulguy's downloader so I don't know if it works for this tease or not.

First of all thanks a lot for this downloader !

I came upon error messages while downloading tease 39111 (Estim Distraction), the errors were "Info: Audio property audio.play is not yet supported". This resulted in no estim audio being played in GuideMe (no "id" values in the xml : <Audio id=""/>).

I checked the JSON for the tease, and the calls to audio.play were like this :

I then compared with the JSON from another estim tease that was downloaded with no errors and is working with sound in GuideMe : tease 33079 (Estim Clinic), and there were calls to audio.play too, albeit with a little difference :

Could you be able to fix this ?

Glad to see you got the file from labrat (thanks labrat) but I did try this with downloader version 0.96g and got the same result, and I tried with my current development version and it crashed, so I will definitely look into and get it fixed for the next release (if not sooner)

Thank you for creating this; when the site was down I thought my favourite teases were lost. I'm now downloading backup copies in case it does eventually happen!

Does anyone know if the description text and/or tags are downloaded and if it's possible to view them alongside the files?

I agree that including the tease description and tags would be something I'd be interested in seeing too.

Since this is more of a feature request for GuideMe maybe it should be posted in the GuideMe thread and hope that either EroticDevelopment or RemiHiyama still check there.

tldr;

The downloaded json file does not include this information, and I personally don't know how difficult it would be for PlayfulGuy to do this.

The other problem I see is that EroticDevelopment would have to modify GuideMe first. I think this could be done by including a couple of new tag fields in the header section of the tease xml file. These fields could be displayed when viewing the Library of your downloaded teases. I also would like to see a third search option where you can search by tag(s).

This is a wish list of new features for GuideMe which I don't believe PlayfulGuy has much control of. From what I can tell EroticDevelopment is still working on a new version of GuideMe but progress has been very slow. It would be nice if this could be added to it.

RemiHiyama has also been working on a fork of GuideMe which EroticDevelopment has been merging into his releases. The last link I saw in the GuideMe thread for GuideMe 4.5.1 is from RemiHiyama's fork.

Damn, I just checked the release dates and RemiHiyama's GuideMe 4.5.1 was release shortly before EroticDevelopments GuideMe 4.5.

I do believe there is some work being done, but it has been painfully slow. PlayfulGuy has been waiting for some of the promised new features so that more EOS features can be implemented in GuideMe.

PlayfulGuy, please let me know if I am incorrect about any of this, and I will delete or edit this post if I'm out of line by posting this.

The tease description and tags are not stored with the tease itself, so these are really two separate operations. I have looked into it a bit in the past. It's certainly possible, but not trivial.

It's not strictly a GuideMe request, and the order doesn't matter so much, since GuideMe and the downloader are two separate tools. The downloader would need to be updated by me to get that information and store it the XML, and GuideMe would need to be updated to use the info if it's in the XML file. The only requirement is that we both know the names of the XML tags. I can still get started and implement it if it's possible, then change the names later, or if I get done first EroticDevelopment could just use the names I pick, so either way works.

Anyone with the knowledge and desire could fork GuideMe and fix bugs and implement new features, just as RemiHiyama did, and while I have the deisre, I don't have the Java knowledge, and the time to devote to getting up to speed on the GuideMe code. I've got all the projects I can handle for the foreseeable future. Along with working on the downloader I'm trying to get another release of the GuideMe Script Engine out. It's years overdue. And there are all those teases to do!

Otherwise all that you've stated is accurate as far as I'm concerned. And I appreciate you chipping in and helping out.

In the current version of GuideMe the javascript functions for creating buttons do not allow setting the button colors, so there is no support for that yet. The color attribute is copied over from EOS as-is for now, so when those features become available in a future version of GuideMe it can be implemented in the downloader. So unfortunately there is not a fix for this right now. The message you see there is an information message and not actually an error.

The specific example you post there is also using some unicode characters for the button label, the

part. Is that what you are trying to fix? If you google "unicode characters &#128154;&#9760;&#65039;&#127872;" it shows those as a green heart, a skull, and a bow or something.

And as has been discussed before in this thread, e-stim teases are known to have other issues so no promises it will work as intended. Again, things are in the works and future releases of GuideMe and the downloader will help fix some or all of those issues.

I would like to point out that tease "Pornstemon" (which I downloaded through this tool) cannot be opened by GuideMe. Instead, I get a completely black page. Do you have any advice? I hoped I could get it run somewhat faster than the online version (which is very slow) but unfortunately it doesn't run at all!

I had a quick look and this tease uses some more advanced javascript that the downloader breaks in the conversion process.

I looked at it a bit to see what it would take to fix it, but the code does some things in strange ways, and it's no wonder it's slow. I don't have the time and mental capacity to sort it all out right now. I'm pretty busy lately and I've got too many things on the go. If I get the time and inclination I'll see if I can sort it out, but don't hold your breath. Maybe over the next week or two.

Greetings all,

I am getting close to releasing an update to the downloader (screenshot below) and was wondering if anyone has any features they'd like to see added, or any issues or "problem" teases to report.

After the next update I'm going to be reworking the javascript handling, and overall EOS handling to try and address as many known issues as possible, but that's going to be a major undertaking, so I want to get a stable release out first, since it may be a while before the next major update.

In the meantime, here's a summary of what's in the coming update:

• Lot's of bug fixes
• Changes to the downloaded XML file to make editing of the action list in EOS teases easier.
• Added support for text alignment (left/right/center) in EOS teases
• Added additional options for fine-tuning EOS downloads
• You can now edit the tease title, filename and media folder name in the GUI before downloading
• The downloader will remember what folder you download each tease to
• Improved handling of "notifications" (global buttons)
• Rewrote a lot of the code to make it cleaner and more maintainable

Note that several of the above features require that the option to save local copies of the script is on (which it is by default). If you've turned that off those features won't work.

Please let me know if you have any specific feature requests.
