I don't think you've sent anything to me about that one, actually. Though sound stuff might be a bit too far in the weeds for me. (I did have some requests for New Button Tricks from you on my agenda though.)
Ah! I was sending a DM reply to @EroticDevelopment and was thinking I should cc you for info but apparently I never did.
It's so hard to keep track of everything

Damn! I did a test of that myself giving it a list of two tease ID's. I'll have a look and repost the zip when I get it patched.

When did you download the new version?

I originally posted it on Sunday, and @Trusfrated notified me of this issue by PM so I took the download offline, then fixed it Monday morning and re-uploaded the zip file.

I just tried downloading the zip file from mega and extracted it and tried downloading and it works properly. Could you have grabbed the broken version before I took it offline and got the new one uploaded?

Re-downloaded and after some testing it would appear that single IDs are stable. The main issue appears to be when multiple IDs are involved. It will get through a random amount before crashing. Ive tested with anywhere between 2-20 IDs listed. It will sometimes get through a couple or half of them before finally crashing. If there's any logs you might want please let me know.

I missed (didn't realize) that you could download with tease ids only. This is great and a lot easier when doing multiples. When adding multiple teases by URL, it can sometimes be tricky to click into the URL line, use the arrow key to take focus away from the previous URL pasted, add a comma, then paste the new URL. And when text gets to the end of the field you can't really see where you're pasting very well. I've found it easier to paste the URL at the beginning of the list each time so I can be sure I'm not accidentally erasing or pasting over part of a URL.

Now that I know I can put the tease IDs in only, that makes it a lot more manageable.

I just re-downloaded 7 teases (Refreshing the scripts only) and it worked fine using only the IDs.

That's exactly why I implemented that feature. It's been there since the first release. Glad to hear it worked for you.

Even a simple screen shot of the error can be enormously helpful.

Can you remember some of the tease ID's you were doing? More information really helps me to troubleshoot what might be going on. If I can try the exact list you are doing and replicate the issue, I can fix it much more easily.

If it's kind of random it's possible that a momentary loss of internet connectivity, or even a lag spike might be causing a failure when doing a batch of teases, or maybe one of the teases itself is causing a crash in the downloader for some other reason.

I'll look at the code that manages the download process and see if there's things I can do regarding fault tolerance in terms of loss of connectivity, and I'll run some longer tests myself and see what happens.

One last thing, not sure it matters but might as well mention it. Each time I load the EXE, I have to re-set where I want the downloads to go. Tried editing the Config file to ensure the settings I wanted, but when the app started it reverted the settings back to default.

PS, ran another test tonight and think one of my VPNs is causing the issue. Will need to do further testing, likely this weekend.

Thanks for that. I'll do some testing and see what I find. It looks like we may be dealing with multiple issues here.

Btw, Overwriting the cache using the "Refresh Script File" option on the main tab will probably not help. As designed the option applies only to the next tease downloaded, so when doing a batch like this it will only affect the first tease in the batch.

It is meant for a tease you have downloaded in the past, but perhaps the tease has been updated online and you want a fresh copy, or maybe you manually edited the cached EOS script and broke something etc.

To always force a download you would have to turn off the "Cache local copy of scripts" option on the options tab, AND manually delete any cached files in the cache folder. I haven't gotten around to implementing a way to clear the cache from within the program yet.

I checked this out and that tease (Tinder + Plus) is causing the downloader to crash. I'll figure that out, but maybe that's part of the issue. In a list of teases you keep hitting one that causes the downloader to choke. I thought I had found all of those things, but oh well...

That's definitely an issue. I had a look at this and the config file only gets updated when the program exits normally. If the program crashes it will never get saved. If you open the program, select the download location, then exit the program it should get saved properly.

I will add code to save the config whenever the Download button is clicked too.

Damn! You are really on a bug-finding roll here! I had a look at this and it probably means the config file is damaged. The way I coded it, if the config file is corrupted it will get replaced with a new default config file, reverting everything (?) back to defaults. The bad part is it doesn't even tell you there was a problem :-|

So, to start fresh, delete the config file, open the program and set your download folder, and all other options the way you want them to be normally, then close the program without doing any downloads. That should result in a clean config, with your settings.

I will fix this issue in the next update as well.

Noticed this is an issue with most of the "original sin" series by "AnonymousPseudonym"

So far using no VPN or a different VPN server closer to me solved the constant crashing issue.

I've fixed all the issues you reported in this release (0.96a) so hopefully it's more stable this time.

I ran through all three sets of tease ID's you posted. The first set contained two teases that crashed the downloader. After fixing those issues I ran set 2 and hit another one that crashed the downloader. After fixing that issue I ran the third set and it ran through the entire set without crashing.

Note that during my testing I turned off image download, so I was only downloading the script and generating the XML file. There may still be issues with internet connectivity dropping during image/file download. I haven't looked into that yet.

Also, your sets of tease ID's all contain duplicate numbers, and the third in particular contains several for teases that don't even exist, and others that are marked as invisible. If you have enabled the option to automatically save the log files you can review the logs later to see which ones were not found or not visible.

Duplicate numbers are not really an issue since the downloader will find the cached html and/or EOS script, and either keep or overwrite the XML file according to your choice when starting the batch download.

And by the way, Thank You! The lists of ID numbers you supplied helped me to find and fix a number of subtle bugs. Most of these turned out to be limit cases where I was checking for most things that could go wrong, but not everything. This helped a lot towards making the downloader better, so Thank You! It's much appreciated.

Let me know if you find anything else.

Uploaded version 0.96b

I discovered another small bug that caused the downloader to crash on the recently posted tease Game of Chance. It was an easy fix so I have uploaded a new version of the downloader that includes the fix.

The links in the first post of the thread have been updated.
