after browsing through the internet, trying to remember all the beautiful and inspirational pictures I have ever seen, I failed to find anything meaningful.
As I took a break from searching and walked around in my room, it hit me instantly: the picture over my bed.
It has been there for about 3 years now and it always makes me dream and sends shivers down my spine.
It´s a painting from the spanish artist Victoria Frances. I really love most her paintings, they often have this gothic touch and show a dark world, which is full of love.
The name of the painting is "el beso", "The Kiss". There isn´t any description from the artist about the picture, so here is my own interpretation.
The story behind the picture:
The picture shows two girls who fell in love with each other. One of them obviously is a vampire (the redhead, let´s call her Julia), which she wanted to hide from her loved one (Sarah).
One evening while taking a romantic stroll in the forest, Julia started to cry and Sarah held her in her arms. After a while, Julia told her the truth about her and all about her fear of losing her. With a tear in her eyes, Sarah opened the top button of her dress and kissed Sarah passionately. With tears in her voice she whispered in her ears, she wanted to be with her for the rest of her life, nothing else mattered to her. Then she gently took Julia´s head and pushed it down to her neck, whispering the words "I´ll always be with you".
Julia kissed her neck and after few seconds, a few drops of blood where running down Sarah´s neck, dripping over her only half-covered breasts.
Sarah got weak in her knees. She didn´t know if it was from the pain, the loss of blood or the passion for Julia, which grew with every moment. Julia gently put her on the ground and continued to kiss her. Sarah was slowly slipping into a sweet sleep, but still returned the kiss, feeling her own blood drip down from Julia´s beautiful mouth. She know, she wouldn´t be able to live with her friends and family, once she awakes as one of Julia´s kind. But she would be with Julia for the rest of her life. This was the happiest day in her life.
I must admit, I got a bit dragged away, but I think of that little story everytime I see the picture over my bed and start to dream about being Sarah. Oh, what would I give for being her and getting such a passionate kiss from Julia.
