Hello. I downloaded GuideMe today for the Mac platform. It seems to work very well, indeed, and I am excited to give it a try. I also downloaded the HeartsClub program and I seem to be missing some resources. There are no pictures for some of the introduction—specifically I see the club pictures, but when "Orsi" shows up, the images don't and there doesn't appear to be a folder with that name. What am I missing?

orsi pics should be in "\GuideMe v0.1.2\Guides\_HeartsClub-v0.9\tutorial"
if there's no such folder or there's no pictures in it, then your question is to the tease author in a tease thread.

If pictures are there, then it's probably a platform dependent error and your question should indeed be here.

p.s. just saying where the pictures for orsy are.

I've installed GuideMe and got it running, but it crashes. In the Tutorial, it crashes when I click "continue" on the page "you can use html tags to format the instruction on pages". In Heart's Club, it crashes when I click "new game" on the opening screen.

I have the latest versions of Java, Chrome, VLC, and am running Windows 7. The only other relevant thing that I can think of is that when I click "help" in the Heart's Club opening screen, it loads JPGs and GIFs but not videos. I just get a blank screen instead.

Is there something simple I can do to fix this?

Chrome is irrelevant it uses ie
the swt jar file, vlc and java all need to be either 32 bit or 64 bit they can't be mixed.
try looking in the log files for errors or post them somewhere like mega and I will have a look (pm me a link if you don't want to post it here)

I like his work on this one, unfortunately I cant do changes myself, because of my missing knowledge. I read the thread and try to understand those lines of code but it is just out of my world.

A couple of weeks ago I have written a PM to the original creator but unfortunately he didnt respond, so
I though I may be alloved to ask you for some help with this.

I would like to change a few bits in that particular tease

--> to make the main hostess appear random for each opening of the tease? (the tease would decide which hostess wil be each time). In original you set the hosstess in the menu before you start the tease - so no suprise...

-->Once the hosstess automaticly choosen appear, is it possible to make, after completing the task, that the cumming section will use random images from separate folder specified for each girl individually?(starting with countdown: {5 -one pic,4 - one pic,3 - one pic,2- one pic,1 - one pic...cum - pic or video}-->for that sentence separate images set in order to make it more real) (like each model would have pictures displayed during the tease and then different ones for cumming section - or even piece of video for cumming itself - that would be probably even better). The task failure is included in this tease - it could stay there just for fun... :P
In original the cumming section is using all available images from the model folder to the very end, so sometimes you cum to the pic which is not necessary the best one. I would like to set myself the cumming sentence pics or even a video piece at the end.

I really like randomness factor and I would like to keep it and those 2 changes could bring it to a higher randomness level... :)

I have no idea how to write a code for this. :blush: I like to ask someone to change for me the xml - i can put the name of the media folder if you point me where to... :)

That extra cum folder would have to be placed inside each model folder to avoid mistakes, and filled witch appriopriate harcore images or video.(I can fill the folders myself - but I cant make the tease to use it...)

Do you think you could help me with this one, please? Anyone? Rewrite the xml file for those options?

I've been playing with Guideme for months now and have been saving up a list of feature requests and issues. I post it here so others can comment too. Some might already be on your list. Here they are in no particular order.
  • Flags set using set=flag on the page element are not set when the pageload javascript runs. It IS set by the time you leave the page, but not while the page is displayed.
    The page in the spoiler demonstrates.

    The first time the page is loaded the flag is not set. If you refresh the page then the flag is set. I encountered this while working on a system that uses several menus. Some global javascript functions used the flags to determine what mode the game is in. When I switched from one mode to another the switch was not detected until the page was refreshed. The fix of course was just to set the flag in the pageload function, but I report it since it was unexpected behavior and took me a while to figure out.

  • In settings can you add a "pet name" option. I see sub name as something like "Slave" or "Slut", but would like to have a friendly name like "Sweetie".
  • Would like an easier way to change button text - can't we just use the <span>variable</span> syntax? The reason for this request is that it's difficult to control button order when buttons are added in javascript along with other buttons that are coded using the <button> tag. I find I usually end up having to do it all one way or all the other way to get the buttons ordered the way I want.
  • Still on the subject of buttons, I would very much prefer to have buttons appear on the page in the order they are listed in the XML instead of in reverse order. It's a pain having to compensate for the fact that they're listed backwards. It's not often there are many buttons on a page, but even with just three or four it's a noticeable strangeness.
  • For all day (or very long) teases could you add if-after="hh:mm" and if-before="hh:mm" conditionals to Pages, Buttons and Delays. This would easily allow different things to happen at different times of day, like after dark for example. I realize that this can be done in javascript but these conditionals would be so much easier.
  • Add scriptvar="name=value" to buttons and delays. This would set scriptVar "name" to the given value creating a simple way to pass arguments to a page. Right now you have to create a javascript function and trigger it in the onclick event. Ideally you could specify multiple name=value pairs.
    This would make simple variable use more accessible for non-programmers.
  • There should be a way to delete scriptVars that are no longer needed. I can find no way to do it now. This came up because of the next issue.
  • The debug window does not scroll normally. If there are a lot of variables defined and the length of the list exceeds the height of the window you can't scroll down to the end of the list. If there are enough variables defined you can't make the window big enough to see them all, and you can't scroll down to see what's off the screen. You also lose access to the controls at the bottom of the window that let you edit a variables value.
  • Please add a conditional to test if Debug is on or not. This would be great for Buttons and Delays during tease development. It would allow the display of additional buttons, similar to how a Delay button appears when debug is on and a delay is active, or to use different delays in debug mode vs regular mode.

    I'd also like to see consistent capitalization. On comonFunctions.getFlags() the initial g is lower case but on comonFunctions.SetFlags() and UnsetFlags the inital letter is upper case. You mostly use lower case for the initial letter which is my preference. Regardless, it should be consistent.
  • Totally not important, but comonFunctions is misspelled. Common has two m's. Along with the above, why not move all the comonFunctions to guide anyway?
  • Why do we have the guide.getFlags() argument in comonFunctions.canShow(), comonFunctions.SetFlags() and comonFunctions.UnsetFlags()?

    It seems to me that the program should know what flags are set without me having to use one function to get the flags so I can tell another function what the flags are. It's like me telling you what you already know.
  • I would like to have comonFunctions.isSet(String flagname) or guide.isSet();
    and comonFunctions.isNotSet(String flagname) or guide.isNotSet()
  • When you first load a guide that includes guide preferences as <pref /> items, if you go into Guide Preferences nothing is there. You have to load the guide again or switch pages or something to create the state file, and then the preferences appear.
  • Guide preferences are grouped by type (string, number, bool). This makes it impossible to group related preferences. Can we have a mechanism to lay this out more like application preferences?
    Perhaps an order=n attribute? For example, if I set up 3 preferences which include a min and max time for something I could have

    <pref order="2" key="ActivityMin" value="30" />
    <pref order="3" key="ActivityMax" value="60" />
  • Images displayed on the left are re-sized to fit the available space. On smaller images this leads to some graininess. Perhaps you could limit the maximum amount an image is scaled up (say 200% max).
  • A button that has a nonexistent target leaves me with a blank page and a long string of gobbledygook in the guideme log caused by a null pointer exception. Took me a while to remember I had renamed the target page but forgot to update the button. Teaseme displays a nice message telling you that the target page doesn't exist. I miss that.
  • Would like <Include> to work in the GlobalJavascript element as well as pages.
    Example:

  • <Include> statements can be nested so file 1 can include file 2, which can include file 3.

  • Logging: When debug mode is on the globaljavascript is dumped every time a new page is shown. I have developed a large collection of javascript functions and this extra dumping leads to extra large log files, and it's hard to wade through when debugging. Can this be dumped once when the tease loads, and then only have the page specific javascript dumped when the page changes.
  • Logging: When the page changes there is an entry written to the javascript log like

  • The mechanisms for overriding the lefthtml and righthtml are different. Both are documented as functions but leftHtml is actually implemented as a property so you get

  • I would really like to be able to display forms in the left pane and be able to retrieve the values. I have some ideas that simply can't be implemented because there's not enough room in the right html pane, and I don't want to force the user to be resizing the panes all the time.
  • Why are the left html and right html handled differently? It would be nice if they were the same. I really like being able to completely redesign the layout in html but dislike having to specify all the extra head and tail stuff. Ideally Guideme would provide the <XML><HEAD></HEAD><BODY> and </BODY> portions, and us users could just focus on the contents of the body. If I'm not mistaken, this is the way the right html is handled. Why not make the left the same?
I know that's a lengthy list, but like I said I've been saving up for a while.

As I understand, Include statements simply treat the included XML's as a part of this XML. You can view it as if the text of included XMLs would be appended to the main XML and you end up with a very big XML file. Basically, it should not affect you if you include some file multiple times, because of how pages work. That is just my take on it though.

Very comprehensive :lol:

I think some may be there already.

Some of the quirks are from making it backward compatible with teaseme.
Some are where people have asked for things in javascript that were not originally considered in the design.
Javascript was originally just meant to give sophisticated game logic and variables, it has evolved to give far more control than originally intended. The more sophisticated stuff works by giving access to the underlying code so where there are multiple objects that allow functions it is because that is how the underlying code works. To change it would also mean changing a lot of the underlying code.

comonFuctions is a good example, I could correct the spelling but it would mean all current teases would stop working and I would need to change it everywhere it was used in the code (besides the second m is redundant and shouldn't be there anyway, your dictionary is probably faulty :-D )

Ask d3vi0n to add it to the main download, settings are configured in an xml file not the program, so can be different on different computers. The "default" set are part of the official download

Technically this is correct behaviour, flags are set when the page is viewed so should not be set when pageload runs as the page has not yet been displayed. But I will have a think about whether it would be better to set them before pageload.
Still on the subject of buttons, I would very much prefer to have buttons appear on the page in the order they are listed in the XML instead of in reverse order. I think this is to make it backward compatible with teaseme teases.
If it is I will add a tease setting to allow teases to reverse the sort order
Why are the left html and right html handled differently?
Because originally the left pane was just images and video, html in the left pane was added later and is handled differently by the underlying code.

On the various ones to extend the "teaseme" ifset type stuff, originally I was not intending to change any of that it was just there to be backward compatible with teaseme. Javascript could do any of that stuff.
However I have had various comments from people who find javascript a step too far for what they want, so I have revisited that and tend to agree, so I will be looking at where I can make it easier for people who don't want to use javascript

Thanks for the replies Philo. No surprises there. I'm looking forward to watching the evolution of Guideme and am happy to help it along in whatever way I can.

One other thing I forgot about - earlier in this thread I posted a couple sample pages for the left html that could be used as an opening screen (post here).

It would be nice to have a customizable splash screen when the program opens. Maybe by just dropping a file with a certain name in the Guideme folder, or something like that.

I like the idea of having a configurable splash screen though so I may implement that as well
