Good news: No. It now works on first page load, with only a selection on the left and a single click on 'play' needed, so something you've done has fixed it :-)

I was going to say my only request would be using spacebar to play or pause... but then this is Cock Hero - you're not meant to be able to pause so I guess it's not really a problem. It does mean that if you leave it play off the end of the track, it stops and there's no way to start it again from the keyboard - you have to press stop and then play. Perhaps a replay button would be a bit better, but some way to resume playback from the keyboard once its stopped would be nice - you can rewind to an earlier point in the video using left and right, but it's useless because you can't resume playback.

This is nit-picking though. Seriously, a nice proof of concept, and I congratulate you on a job well done.

My biggest qualm is that it's not cross-browser compatible. As a Firefox user on Linux, non-cross-platform software is... well, it's not great. There are other appropriate words for it, but they sound too harsh and detract from how much I appreciate what you have done here.

This is super interesting! I have a few thoughts:

I'm not sure I agree with the idea of coupling the player with the downloader - especially having to paste in a magnet link which isn't the best UX. I think it would be much easier to have the app agnostic to how the content is downloaded, so long as it's in a correctly-named subfolder of the app's data directory.

But the main thing I think about is that this would immediately become useful for something I've wanted for ages - a way to dynamically mix-and-match rounds from different cock hero videos, or from within a single video.

For example, it would be pretty easy to take an existing video and add metadata about the rounds (content, actresses, bpm, number of beats, length, etc), then display that information in the player and allow the user to select which round, or which type of rounds they'd like to play.

Looking through the API, this seems like it would be doable right now. By just encoding the metadata as a hardcoded object at the start of the script, and using it to call seek() based on user input (perhaps there would need to be some kind of ability to tie an rpc call to a keyboard key to the API)

That also makes me think that with a standardized system of naming videos and some community effort, it could be possible to transform everyone's cock hero data folders into a huge, remixable, replayable collection of rounds! Videos could be watched the way the creator intended, but then could live on as part of a larger unified whole of cock hero rounds. I mean, hell I could spend a few hours tagging everything from The Island series to make something pretty amazing without needing to rely on a big community effort.

I hear you. One of my goals was to give users a zero install way of using bittorrent so it would be easier than mega to download.
Not having an easy means if distribution is a problem I see often even on this forum.

I also have plans to use protocol handlers, but right now there need to be done features added to the browser capability first.

FF will run this fine when they implement native filesystem. I don't know when they will do that but it shouldn't be too long. It's a new api and incredibly useful for PWAs. They've been good on everything else for pwa.

This was a Google led api effort. It's only a matter of time...

The replay issue will be fixed before launch I think. Pseudonym is still working on content and this was just an alpha test round, really. I have time to fix bugs and implement features while he works 🙂

We're gearing up for an alpha release. I've made some improvements recently to the software and added features.

One area I'd like to explore is adding the ability to unlock patron benefits for authors so that they can be recognized for their hard work, so the Patreon login is now complete. There are currently no patron benefits for the app itself (right now), other than contributing to future app development.

Are there any other authors that are interested in releasing something on the platform?
Are there features that any of you need?

Alpha version 2

With substential help and support from fagustree, I have just finished an early alpha testing version of Cock Hero Replay.


This version includes:
- Pool of 6 possible rounds (so far cca 28 minutes of content, 3GB size) from which the software randomly picks and creates 3 rounds long sessions.
- Randomized beat meters. Every time you play the same round, the beat patterns and difficulty will vary.
- Randomized green sections (sections where you are allowed to cum). So far there is a chance for 1-3 green sections for each round. (This will likely change and will be reworked based on the feedback)
- Random breaks. At the moment there is 50% chance to show a break after each round.
- Basic progression function that sorts the randomly chosen rounds based on difficulty of bpm and content.
- Improvement form the POC version - there are beat changes indicators now



For people who are interested in testing:
This is very early developement stage where I want to test many different ideas so I'm very interested in hearing what does or doesn't work, what would you like to see, what to improve, how to achieve more replayability etc.
Because of nature of this project, it should be relatively easy to tweak stuff around and iterate on the design.

If you don't mind spoilers and are interested in testing what I have so far and want provide some feedback, you can hop on my discord server and ask for a tester role in the general chat.

Things that will be possibly coming in next testing versions:
- More rounds in the random pool
- Longer sessions (I'll be probably aiming for shorter, about 20-30 minutes long playthroughs. This can change based on feedback)
- Some sort of an intro + outro
- Procedurally generated teasing text / taunts from the host
- Round time-outs (to make sure you will not see the same rounds in the next, successive session)
- Choice between SC only or SC+HC content at the begining of the session
- CYOA game mode (many more new rounds will be needed before I can start thinking about how exactly to implement it)
- Corruption mechanic (I'll need to discuss with fagustree later whether it's going to be technically possible)
- Edging sections (not sure about these - needs to be tested whether it's going to be fun)
- Chance of free style sections in parts of rounds without beats (some kind of visual prompt for this will need to be developed)



I'm super excited about possibilities of this software and I hope we can brainstorm some new cool ideas in the testing period of this project.

Alpha version 3

Hello all!

I've released a new version 0.03 update to CH Replay!

New content, features, additions and improvements:

New rounds
There are 7 new rounds. Four of these are for free and three rounds are Patreon Tier 3 only. (More about Patreon Tiers and how to access them is addresed down below in this post)
There is about 35 more minutes of new content which adds up to about 1 hour overall.

Session length increased
I've listened to the feedback and changed the way sessions length is generated to minutes instead of rounds. Previously you would always get only 3 rounds.
Now the game aims for cca 20 minutes long sessions which usually translates to 3-5 rounds depending on how long are the chosen rounds.

I plan to add 30 and maybe even 40 minutes options in the future once I have enough rounds for it to work properly.
So you will be able to choose your session lenght.

Choice between SC + HC content - or - SC only
Another feature based on your feedback. Patrons that have Tier 1 can now choose the softcore only option.

Taunts
I've implemented about 100 procedurally generated taunts so every time you play, you should get somewhat different taunts in different situations. The goal is, again, increase the replayability.
The logic is inspired by Left 4 Dead dynamic dialog system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAbBID3N64A
The generator so far is relatively basic and the taunts will start to repeat pretty soon because I've spend most of the time making the code work for this update.
The good news is that there is a lot of space to grow in terms of context, complexity and quantity so from now the variety, quality and accuracy of the taunts should only improve in upcoming updates.
I'm very interested in your feedback on this feature!

Let me know if you experience any issues with taunts.
Did you get some that didn't make sense or showed up at a wrong time? Should they appear more or less often? Do you have ideas for new taunts? Please share them with me!
I can't wait to work on and improve this feature since I'm absolutely fascinated with procedurall generation. :)

Rounds and breaks time-outs
You will no longer get rounds that you've played in the previous session.
Every time you play, the content will be different from the last time.

Second parts of rounds
It took a little bit of code adjusting, but I've added "second part" functionality.
It means that some rounds can have a second part that might be spawned after it's unlocked.
To unlock a chance to second part, you have to play the round at least twice before.
So far there is one round with a second part in this update.

Who will be the first one who will figoure out which one it is? :)

Green segments change (parts of the round where you are allowed to release)
Now there is only 5% chance for each segment to be green.

Skipping buttons removed
They were there only for very early testing. Now they are removed.

Time out after sessions
Once you finish a session there is one day cooldown period. You will be able to play again tomorrow.
I'll probably increase the timer to couple days in the future updates because we all know that playing CH videos should be a speciall occasion. :P


Patreon integration

I'm very serious about this project and super excited about continuing working on it. There are days when I get up, go to work, return home and edit videos or code for 8 hours, then sleep and repeat... :D
Your support will help me to spend less time at my work and pour more hours into this project. :)
So that's the reason I've implemented the premium stuff. But don't worry, the game will still be playable for free. It's just something extra for my supporters.

How to acces premium features and content:

1) If you wish so, choose a tier and subscribe to it on my Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/PseudonymCH
2) Before playing, click log in button on the cyoa.club site and finish the log in process
Now you can start the game, but make sure you are logged in every time before you start playing to get the premium acces.



Feedback

I hope this version will not have many bugs and the game wont break. If you'll experience any issues, please let me know and I'll try to fix it asap.
Please, let me know if you have any ideas on how to increase the replayability, variety and how to improve the game in general.

Woohoo can't wait to try this! Which tier on patreon gets access to all 7 rounds? Is it tier 3? What are "tier 1 premium benefits"?

Yes, there are 12 rounds in total so far and 3 of them are for Tier 3 supporters only (15USD/month).
Tier 1 has "softcore only" option that can be choosen before playing each session.
But you can try the base game and see if you like it first and see wheter you want more.

I don't have charging up front on my Patreon so I think you can theoretically try wheter you like the premium content for free too.
And if you dislike it or if you don't want to support me anymore, you can cancel the membership before 1st day of next month and not get charged. (At least that's what Patreon says)

I kind of like the idea of trying out the premium for free so if it's not going to be terribly abused I'll keep it that way.

I'm also open to feedback on the monetization over all. I would like to have something that is fair and works for most people.

Ok I see! And are the 3 premium rounds complete with beats and everything? I saw on Patreon a mention that they might be more WIP
