I've heard the tingler has a unpleasant jolt if you turn it on whilst having the electodes connected.

Is it safe to say have the electrodes on then plug the cord into the tingler after its been turned on?
some of the boxes, yes, mine does this
it's a cheap push button switch and there aren't any resistors in line, like there are in prior diy schematics/designs
standard audio pop you get with poor grounding or static in an old analog receiver using the same style switch, you don't get these as often with toggles
i hate connecting after switched on, too much chance of noise and all but have to with this thing

the volume pots all have a crackle in them if you adjust while playing a track, it pops when switching revere/normal and triphase/dual even with volume off and it did this brand new, has not changed or broken in
BT module is just one more BT item throwing signal in a room where a few are already running - keyboard, trackpad, headphones... i use the 3.5mm jack and if any wires moves, leads or input, it crackles
i don't use/buy cheap cables

i have used it off battery, off mains, 3 different power bricks (shipped with one not double insulated!!), connected to 2 different computers both with and without a usb external sound card/audio controller, tried 2 different iDevices - all the same results

not close in overall performance compared to a BT Stim or DIY, i expect the estimhero device far surpasses it as well as the FOC if you are going the restim route
better than TENS, better than 2B for sure - that thing is a piece of shit and real disappointing because they make great electrodes

my tingler was purchased while they were re-building inventory a couple years back so maybe it is a cheap build with whatever parts were around and newer ones are better appointed and bugs worked out, seems that way from recent reviews

if you don't have a stereo box, are moving up from a 2b or tens, or don't stim for longer sessions or not frequently, the Tingler is just fine and i think its better than the $30 basic build with computer speaker amp, but falls short of the real rigs - just doesn't have the juice at the top end, lacks some oomph on the low end, and it doesn't drive my big plug that well

someone was looking to modify theirs to improve it, but they never did afaik and it was a while ago

i do appreciate it can be used with a battery pack and is more portable, the idea is certainly there and like i said i hope the newer ones are coming out in much better quality overall, but they gotta fix the power switch issue
