Re: ⚡[ESTIM RELEASE] - Electric Dreams
You are on mac?
Make a new folder in your user directory (where folders like documents, movies etc are located). Name it ffmpeg.
Go to: https://evermeet.cx/ffmpeg/
download the latest ffmpeg (right now its ffmpeg-110285)
unzip it and put it into the folder ffmpeg you just created.
Go into your system settings under the apple menu.
locate the privacy and security settings
in the list on the left side locate full disk access
look for the terminal app in the right list and activate it
if its not there locate it in the utilities folder in the programm folder
drag and drop it into the right list and give it full disk access (activate it)
when this is done you can click the Build-tease-mac-command file in the folder you downloaded from Mega.
hope this helps

W11, I am unable to get this to work. I changed the bat file to echo on and added some pause statements to see what was going on. I get to the end and get path not found errors. It only takes a few seconds to run. What is up? I so want to givce this a try. The other rillo/digitalparkinglot teases are incredible! THX

Can you share the output? You are not Lawman from discord? If you are, you can pm me, we are in several common discord servers.lawman5297 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 10:14 pm W11, I am unable to get this to work. * are you on 64 bit OS?
* can the batch file download the file (i.e. try ffmpeg download url from batch in browser)?
* write permission in directory so the batch can unpack ffmpeg?
* enough space to compile the output (~3.5 GB)?
Alternatively you can stitch together the file manually with avidemux https://www.fosshub.com/Avidemux.html for example. You'll know the ending number though.

He was not double-clicking the script, but instead right click -> run as admin. That starts script in C:\Windows\System32 so it doesn't work.satn00b wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 6:48 amThere are some things you can check:lawman5297 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 10:14 pm W11, I am unable to get this to work. But on bright side, normal double click seems to work for most people as it should :)

Re: ⚡[ESTIM RELEASE] - Electric Dreams
There is another thing you can try to do, which I did, you can just take the ffmpeg folder you get from the link (in the batch file) when you unpack it , and just save it the same folder as the Estim project, that is what I just ended up doing, and then it worked for me.
So just save the ffmpeg-master-latest-win64-gpl
The same place where build-tease.bat is
And just ignore the whole user folder setup.

That is what it does on doubleclick. You literally need to unzip and double click, without moving anything anywhere. It downloads ffmpeg into that folderhawekeye1234 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 3:51 pm So just save the ffmpeg-master-latest-win64-gpl

How do I downscale this to 1080p. My poor Surface can't play the file in 4k.

There is a 1080p bundle in the first postguytohypno wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 12:00 am How do I downscale this to 1080p. My poor Surface can't play the file in 4k.

Re: ⚡[ESTIM RELEASE] - Electric Dreams
Thanks for that explanation. I am glad I can use my usual workflow to enjoy this clever randomizing script. I have been entranced by Rillo's chatroom webtease though, so this experience is still waiting.
It sounds like your method is normalizing the surround track as one entity. To combine the tracks without touching their levels, the following ffmpeg filter works:
Code: Select all
join=inputs=2:channel_layout=quad:map=0.FL-FL|0.FR-FR|1.FL-BL|1.FR-BR

Re: ⚡[ESTIM RELEASE] - Electric Dreams
I made an alternative script to have a dynamic behavior and have the 4 different endings randomly.
This script is much faster than the original "Build-Tease.bat" script, doesn't require the use of ffmpeg, and saves disk space because it doesn't create a whole new mp4 file.
It is based on the principle that most video or music players can read and link successive files. It is therefore enough to put in the main directory the files which go well with names which prevent to know their origin.
There are 2 scripts to put in the main directory (one to generate the triphase version and one for the dual version) and one to put in the "Media_Parts" sub-directory. You can modify the end of the latter to clean up and save space compared to the old behavior, but you can keep the 2 behaviors in parallel.

Re: ⚡[ESTIM RELEASE] - Electric Dreams
My first idea was to create a m3u playlist with mainfile+random ending for this but we gave up on it since "most" players was not "all".
But this could be simplified on NTFS drive where you could just generate video.mp4, video.mp3, ending.mp4 and ending.mp3 in main folder, not as files but as symlinks (so they take 0 bytes), you don't touch original files, and no need to clean it up.

You're right
But symlinks don't work from my TV using a share.
Also, you must be an administrator to create a symbolic link.
Hardlinks, on the other hand, work just fine, although this a bit scary when removed.
Here is a new version of the script located in Media_Parts.
The original files are never modified, so the script provided in the zip file is still functional.
The quality of the videos is much better because the files are the original ones and they are not manipulated by ffmpeg.
