Thanks for the detail, and yes, I had a run in with him where he made threats, stim is a better place now for sureElectro wrote: Sat Sep 13, 2025 2:09 amSo here's the deal. The stim files were created by something like a dozen or more authors, so I took each separate type of file and worked on leveling them out at the author level. When the frequencies are different and the waveforms aren't the same, even if the volume level is a match in Audacity, the intensity often isn't.boundupone wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 4:08 pm interesting, how are you going about rebalancing files like this?
Basically I created a text file in notepad and copy/pasted the audio filenames and as I'd play the tease in GuideMe, I'd take notes on whether a file would need to be higher or lower and took a rough guess at what volume level was about right. After that, I made changes, played through again with those changes and fine tuned on each run of the tease.
It was a ton of work to do, but I think it's pretty much good to go with what I have. The trouble is I did this back in the SmartStim days and knowing climberr/climberrr or however many Rs are in that name was tossing out copyright BS on other people's work, I never wanted to post the full volume change list because the filenames would identify that many of them came from the place, so I didn't. That's not an issue anymore, but at the same time I stopped thinking about it after a certain amount of time.
I can try to find the full list sitting on a 17 year old laptop or the backup of that laptop at some point and toss it in here, but I'm a little low on free time to dig it up for at least a week or so because of other life obligations. Once I'm done with my personal stuff or in between a bunch of it, I'm currently play testing a new estim video for someone else that's in production.
I don't know if the volume settings I have would be a direct drop-in for the Milovana v1 version or not because I don't know if GuideMe handles it differently. The other downloaded offline version is difficult because the filenames are all renamed before it gets pulled from Milovana, so that might take additional work looking through the tease file for all of the relative name connections.
I'm sure it's something that could be solved though. Also it's the "telephone torture" file that needs to be replaced with the original, at least in the GuideMe version but it might have a messed up(painful) beginning part in both v1 and v2 on Milovana, but not certain.
simple question, once you had played file a and b and decided file b was x level too strong, what was your methodology/software/process to lower (or increase) each file by x percent?
