FB: The Awesome Competition 2
Re: FB: The Awesome Competition 2
Great tease! Thank you for the work you put into!
Concerning the sound level of the beats mixed with the voice...it's easier to hear with headphones. Seems like the beat track is on the left channel.
One complaint - some of the edge/stop buttons need to be on a differant place than the cumming buttons. For example, I was on the test with the girl who said to only use the Spanish word "Pare!"... Just as I clicked it the slide changed and the next slide had a "cumming" button in the same location as the "Pare!" button on the previous slide. Needless to say I was too late and when I clicked, it hit the "cumming" button instead...ending the tease for me!
Thanks again for your hard work!

I tried it again and the dead end was fixed. There was another one, though, few screens later at the dinner with the text ending

Re: FB: The Awesome Competition 2
This is really a top notch tease. Good dialogue, good images, and the sound is a very nice touch. Though it is really excessively long. It took me over 4 hours to finish and I was taking minimal breaks & passing quizzes easily as well. The final round alone took about 90 minutes thanks to multiple gauntlets. I'm not sure if how many girls you have to go through is random and I got unlucky or if its always like that. I agree with Mykki in that this could've been 2 amazing teases instead of 1 massive one. Never thought I'd complain about there being too much content in a fantastic project.
One really frustrating thing is that the very end bugged up for me after all those hours and I couldn't finish it.

meson1, thanks for the kind words.meson1 wrote:Okay. I gave it a wee whirl last night. It is stupendous. Not enough teases are inventive with the stroking activity, but AC2 is much better.
If I have one criticism, it's the relative sound levels of the metronome between audio that is beat only and audio in which the beat has been dubbed on top of the girls' voice. If I have the sound level high enough to properly hear the girl and the accompanying beat, then when the tease switches to a metronome only track, it's so loud that it blasts out of my speakers and I have to turn it down quick.
It doesn't help that where I live, the walls are paper thin, and the last thing I want to do is wake up the neighbours in the middle of the night.![]()
It would be an improvement if the tracks were more even in volume.
I think the problem with the sound levels is - because I've been working on this tease on and off for the past 4 months - I simply forgot what the sound levels should be overall. Didn't help that I did the sounds at different times of various months. I wish I could easily go back and fix this and in theory I could - but I believe you still can't delete files once they've been uploaded on Nyx. Maybe I can find an easy way to fix most of the sound level problem... no promises though.
Heh, thanks for the feedback slavejack... I think in your case, it was just "bad timing" where the screen switched just as you were pushing the button. The Cumming/Fail button option will always be the lowest button when there's 2 or more button options. I think there is a way to position the buttons so they're farther apart, but I think it required additional code that I wasn't prepared to adding to this tease at this time.slavejack wrote:One complaint - some of the edge/stop buttons need to be on a differant place than the cumming buttons. Yeah - I think I'm going to have to shorten the final round by removing one of the gauntlets... I definitely don't want the tease to be a 4 hour affair.seiryu wrote:This is really a top notch tease. I'm going to make 2 major edits - I'll be adding a password-protected jump point right after the first round - I've playtested it last night a few times and the first round is often as long as the final round, and that doesn't seem right at all. Furthermore, going to be making some changes to the format of round 1 to hopefully make it somewhat shorter. I'll be making both of these changes later tonight.
Thanks again for all the feedback!
Re: FB: The Awesome Competition 2
Ah.
Innovative, interesting, well-written and well put together.
If you want only the good criticism, look away now.
Right. First of all a particular bugbear (or two) of mine. It's "Anyway", not "Anyways" as I continually tell my continental european friends whose English is otherwise good.
Secondly, I'm a great believer in not stating the obvious. E.g. I have two eyes (that are both looking into your two eyes which are looking into my two eyes). I would not say "Look at my natural eyes!". As opposed to my 'unnatural eyes, which are no doubt the remains of Satan's last semen splurge. So why do you, and I assume you're American from it as this hasn't seemingly pervaded the rest of the world yet, continually refer to 'natural breasts'? Refer to the not obvious i.e. fake, if you must but it just makes more sense to say look at my tits/my surgeon's tits.
Thirdly. Instructions that are mechanical. I know that many on here like to be told to stroke 400 divided by 3.979797 times to the power of a 600 watt lightbulb that has flown round the earth 8 times the lifetime of the Superman story's having been repeated in comics where he appears on the front cover in a flying position, but it's a bit ... sterile. I assume others also 'get off' on reading the instructions for how to put together a flatpack wardrobe. No different. Not my taste though. This has some bearing because the too-oft repeated 'count how many strokes/beats there were' bits were very tiresome. As were the repetition of certain elements because ultimately it felt like several 'teases' just rammed together to make a long (and still continuing after at least 3 hours) piece of work.
I'm unsure about continuity. At one point I've been told Miss X found her man, went off and the rest of the girls continued the competition for their own sakes and then that the real test has been resurrected due to Miss X's dream man being not so dreamy and the competition has moved to her private island. But at some point you're told that this has happened several times before on the island whereas what has happened before indicates that it hasn't. Mind you that was several lifetimes ago, so I might need more hypnosis to recover those particular memories.
At one point you say that if a girl is knocked out, she's off the island then one of them offers you a choice of her not coming back and another one does come back. The annoying black-haired woman who I wanted to introduce to the shotgun that I'd smuggled onto the island just so I could blow her brains out.
Then there are others too that do too (ignoring your guide who is outside the competition proper).
You've said that this is a tease you've written for yourself. It kinda shows in that apart from it just going on and on and on and ....and I can wade through a Cactusman 6 million million page epic, so ... it has some elements that I did find very tedious and repetive but that you might like, hence your putting them in there. Do I really give a sht that giraffes shag koalas if the equator moves .00000000001 degrees on the first Tuesday of the month provided we all wear lumberjack shirts? Well if it ain't gonna help at the local quiz/in the 'I want to get into your pants tonight' stakes, no.
I'm carrying on with the tease because I'm interested in the story; as a vehicle for sexual arousal it left me cold a long while ago even though some of the women are attractive (again, a two-edged sword: good selection of different types and looks, but can leave you open to some being considered unattractive) and while you normally, if not always get a "5" rating from me, I'll refrain this time. Ultimately this strikes me as a bit self-indulgent; if you had made it tighter and pithier I wouldn't have bothered posting. And I might have done something more fun for two or so hours.
No doubt your next offering will be good, however, so I'll leave you to it. I also need to rest my wrist as all this typing has killed it.

Re: FB: The Awesome Competition 2
Great tease and I don't have much to say that already hasn't been mentioned.
I'm sad though. When I get towards the end at least I think it's the end after what seems to be the last challenge where you find out the truth of the whole situation. You get the single option of "So, now what?" When I click on it nothing happens. I decided to take a break and get a drink but it still wouldn't let me get off that page when I got back. So I'm just sad it ended this way after over 4 hours. Hopefully no one else had this issue.
If you don't mind could someone pm me the conclusion? Thanks and have a good one all.

Yeah, that's kind of an American slang thing.Flogger wrote:Right. First of all a particular bugbear (or two) of mine. It's "Anyway", not "Anyways" as I continually tell my continental european friends whose English is otherwise good.
Heh, I guess did go overboard on stressing the "natural breasts" thing. I think it's something I do like to make a point of - not that I'm totally against breasts implants... but I am totally against "super obvious" breasts implants. I guess I like to "celebrate & highlight" when an adult model actually has a natural point. But good point.Flogger wrote:... I do get your point about "instructions being mechanical" and I really tried to avoid any specific basic instructions (i.e. 'stroke 100 times') and relied on what I prefer - metronome based stroking. While metronome stroking is fairly straight to the point as well, it's also probably the best "stroking method device" to frame stroking instructions effectively with the illusion of "not being in control". I hope that makes sense. I also included "freeform" stroking methods that aren't as cut n' dry, allowing the user to stroke to their preferred speed. I also feel with the way I've "enhanced" the metronome stroke beat sounds in AW2 that it hopefully breaks the mechanical monotony of storking instructions.
AHAHAHA! Me neither!Flogger wrote:I'm unsure about continuity...
From what I remember, the original Awesome Competition left it somewhat wide open whether the contest would be occurring after the the user got to the end and found out the "big secret". I took the story position that once the secret got out, it wouldn't be occurring as a "normal" event, but that this would be a special one-off as Miss X has become available again.
Hmm. Honestly, I don't remember what part your referring to.Flogger wrote:At one point you say that if a girl is knocked out, she's off the island then one of them offers you a choice of her not coming back and another one does come back. Yeah, in some ways it was a bit "self-indulgence" on my part; while I definitely wanted to pay homage to Uberman's original tease, I wanted this tease to be something I - myself - would and could play over again and enjoy. All of the adult models I've chosen are women i find personally attracted to. That said, I really didn't want it to go "on and on and on" and I've tried to code so you the encounter rate wouldn't be "high" each round. Still tuning in that aspect but I even didn't realize how long it was going to be when I finally published it.Flogger wrote:You've said that this is a tease you've written for yourself. As for my next project, I'm going to "sit out" of making FlashTease's till the new version of the FlashTease editor - Eos - is fully implemented. Thanks again, Flogger, for the immense feedback.

Re: FB: The Awesome Competition 2
I like the idea, jp, but I don't think I'll implement it that way. If I am going to put a new jump point, it would be right after the end of round 1 - I'm hoping that limits the rest of the tease to about 60-90 minutes and you would still be able to get all the proper ending choices (tho you would miss out on one encounter in the 2nd round... such are trade-offs).jp wrote:To those of you wanting a save point, it kind of makes sense to not have one once you get to the end. I don't possibly see how you could do save points and still get that sort of result. (Well, I do have one idea...
...Clearly wouldn't be perfect, but it is a thought.
Going to implement the new "jump point" tonight which SHOULD reduce the time spent on the rest of the tease to 60-90 minutes... I hope.jp wrote:My complaint, and take it with a grain of salt because it's a personal complaint more than a critique, is that I typically like to explore every path possible in multi-path teases. With the sheer length of this one, I don't think that's even remotely viable!
Oh, and I didn't get the end. :/
Oh and just pm'd you about "the end" experience you hide behind spoilers.
Heh thanks mike for the kind comments and sorry to hear about the mistake you made.mike_987123 wrote:Hey, I have to post again to echo what another user said.
I made it to the final round after around 4 hours of the tease and I accidentally hit the "cumming" button because the screen changed right as I was about to click and the cum button was in the same spot where the edge button had just been. This actually happened to me twice now. Once was in the second round, and I decided to start the tease over. This time though, I don't think I have the devotion to go through all that again to get back to where I was. It's really disappointing. Again, don't know how hard it would be, but putting the cum button in a different spot would definitely fix this.
Once again, awesome tease. I'm really bummed now, because I really wanted to get to the conclusion. I'm invested in the story.
I actually did a quick search in the forums and couldn't find the post about how to "position" buttons... hoping someone can point it out so I can determine how easy/hard it would be. If it's a copy & paste thing that wouldn't alter the formatting of other buttons, it could be done relatively easily... however, if it's not, then there's not much I can do, other than removing the "Cumming" button entirely.

Thanks Ethereal for your nice comments - someone had reported this bug yesterday and I thought I fixed it?
As far as the conclusion, I'd rather not ruin it - once I put the new jump point, I'll pm you (and others on this thread) the passcode so you can continue the FlashTease right after Round 1... that should save you about 1-2 hours of playing time (I hope).
Re: FB: The Awesome Competition 2
First off i love the tease its a bit long for my taste but i can get through it. The only problem i seem to be having is everytime i get to the end i seem to run in to a bug.
