I/i as a switch take much consideration to the caps lock so when Y/you see me You can know i'm a sub and when Y/you see Me Y/you can know I'm a Domme.
I/i definetly hate when people say "miss tigerlily".
But, but...I told You I was sorry for calling You Miss!!! *giggling*
I was mortified that I had said that...what a dozen times, before You said something. But it wasn't even me You said it to...it was someone else, and I saw it and couldn't apologize fast enough. *blushing*
I guess You didn't say anything to me cause I'm special huh? *giggling* *flashes my award winning smile at You* *grin*
Well there are a few reasons to everything.. First is I wrote I hate people writing "miss tigerlily" because they bother writing miss but can't be arsed with cappitalising it.
Other thing would be I sometimes fail to notice when I'm reffered as Miss so I don't say anything.
And by all means, yes you are oh-so special .
I'm sorry but I can't help feeling your shoulder is just so cold.
After being in the chat a bit i do find that it helps to adhere to the capitalizing-thing. It's less important on the forums I guess because you usually know a bit more about the other person or get more info from the profile etc, but on the chat it really seems to be useful.

This thread was purely about the capitalization of names.
It has developed slightly differently than I thought would.
Especially as to how many confessed to being switches.
So I will normally be in chat as Les, and neutral.
But I will switch to the state required for a particular scene and person/s.
not sure about name for now but will think some more.
I have done some research on this subject and that will be no surprise to those that know me as I hate not knowing about a things.
Capitalization seems to stem from the early scribes who were invariably slaves.
so their Masters and/or Mistresses names were in capitals and the slaves in lower case.
I understand this is the reason that proper names and nouns are capitalized to this day.
Now "Slashy speak" was derived with the rise of chat rooms and bulletin boards.
I feel that all Dominates were to be Upper case initial letter and slaves lower case.
*thinks* is this why they are named so ??
but the I/i, W/we, Y/you, etc. was to be directed to the whole room in general of mixed membership.
However it also seems to be for switches too.
So les, slave; Les, Dom ;and L/les switch ?
This is the notation of Tigerlily.
SexualChoc is sub most of the time but SCDom when in that frame of mind.
The vote is leaning towards he fact that capitalization is not a prerequisite but many feel it is a nice thought/touch.
I am still undecided what I am to do.
I feel I will stick to the vanilla method as it makes my life easier switching between that lifestyle and the tutti frutti one.
Using the Lord prefix and sub suffix when required for a specific reason, rather than mere clarity.
I strive hard to treat all as equal while general chatting, using "jp's" method of copying the name even though I often abbreviate.
One interesting thing is that in vanilla life if I call any female no matter what age "young lady" it is always received as a compliment.
I carry that on here with all females no matter their orientation, but also extend it to the guys that "femme", sissies and tg or ts, who are especially appreciative.
I hope this response from me is not the end of the thread but a chance for all to respond further as they see fit.
