You'll know you are at the end when ...
- Spoiler: show
I noticed in the files there were more galleries I was unable to play. I also noticed all of the "TMP" buttons in the startup menu. I decided NOT to play them ... I am holding out hope that you will one day finish this project, and I want to experience them the way you intend in your final artistic vision ...
Projects like this are rough, because they are so large. Often they are abandoned, sometimes they continue in fits and starts ... so, I understand if you quit, but, I DO hope you continue at some point ... (Low key hoping these posts will motivate you.
I DO have ONE request ... In the next iteration, can you make a "random encounter area" and have the encounters in individual files?
I really enjoyed "Skirmish RPG" by guardianx, so much so, that I modded it and made my own version ... I got REALLY into it ... I spent, like, a weekend creating teases for it with real life girls instead of anime ones. I looked through his code and documents and figured it out how to make a template. I then generated my OWN encounters for it ... like ... probably ... double or triple of what he had in the game ... sadly, I deleted it all ... I wanted to make my own "fan" version, but, I never got around to coding the final boss so never "finished" it ...
Anyway, I'm an amateur coder and garbage at java. Everything in the NPC Fairy encounter was hidden. So, I could not figure out how to make a template for it. BUT ... if the game randomly pulls the encounter data from a FILE in a particular folder, and those files are formulated as a template ... well ... I could create encounters ... and if I did, I would DEFINITELY pass them along and not delete them! XD
Now, guardianx's combat system was probably a little more developed ... he had some pretty cool options, and I was able to mix and match and create some really cool encounters ... (also upping the difficulty to suit my tastes) but, his didn't REQUIRE a lot of text. So, for most of the encounters, I could just dump picture galleries into folders after renaming the pictures "01.jpg" or whatever format he used. If you've looked at d3vion's Pilgrim quest, he did a lot of stuff like that, and I was able to mod the game because he left the data in files with comments and even left example templates ...
Anyway, if you got the story to the point where that "random vortex of lust" or whatever you called it appears, and random encounters go in there ... well ... I'm guessing myself and others might help you with that ...
... but, that's tricky, because getting the combat system right so that it fits with the story takes some finessing. guardianx didn't really do that or give story context for the stroking and game mechanics ... but he DID give his monsters a lot of cool abilities, and I was able to mix and match them into some interesting encounters ... I don't know if he had an assassin that killed you if you edged, but ... I ended up making like 4 or five, heh ... he had some girls just make you edge ... I don't think he had "edge in time" mechanics ... but, anyway, get the combat system how you like and figure out the role of edges and edge holding and all that ...
I'll be looking forward to the next update!
