3.5mm audio jacks
3.5mm audio jacks
I'm looking to dress the hardware up a little bit. Anyone know of a good place to order 3.5mm audio jacks and cables with the male ends. The jack will need to be able to attach to a plastic project box. I looked a bit on google and radio shack and didn't find what I was looking for.

3.5 mm jacks
Be careful with jack plugs and sockets as they tend to short when inserted or removed when powered up !!
Suggest you look at the power supply type plug and sockets as these are designed to prevent this.

I am in the uk
I use a company called Maplins.
Here is a link to the powr connectors.

The problem with jack plugs is that the conections are in line instead of parallel.
Consider the "din" type plugs also Link follows

I ended up going with these:

Thanks les, I know you had different advice. I will be sure to check for shorts and how that would affect operation. I don't know if the one being sold as a Inline Plug DC Power Connector will make any difference when it comes to shorts, but I will find out.
The reason why I went with those is because they were on opendildonics.org as the recommended style of connector. I want there to be interoperability between our controller and toys that other people build.
