So I of all people should know how it feels like to be the object of mockery. But this will never make me give up either of my passions.

Now you are talking! Two pair of experienced eyes trying to figure who does and who doesn't! I'll let you know my next travel date! :)Lady X wrote:I love the way you watch people. It would be fun to sit at the airport and talk to you about what you are thinking and seeing with different people. *smile*kneeforu wrote:Fascinating questions Lady X.
I think about this all the time. Actually, I love to watch and study people in general, but it always comes back to this subject.
I travel a lot for work, so some of my airport fun is to listen to people waiting for airplanes and try to determine their line of work, or why they are traveling.
Regarding their sexual preferences, fantasies, etc.... I think about the people I work with and try to figure out if any of them might have the same fantasies. For a woman to be dominate, I think they would have to be intelligent to scheme and connive the fantasy scenarios, so first thing I do is apply who around me is smart enough to be creative in their sexual lives. Then I apply general sexiness, who likes to be sexy without trying to be sexy. Its very subtle but important. Those who try too hard immediately are thrown out. I think there might be one or two around here who would be "one of us".
Great thread!

I specifically remember that episode as well! I remember sitting there glued to the show and wondering when I can get a ticket to Vegas!Indigo wrote:The best depiction I ever saw on television was an episode of CSI, where Gil Grissom visits Lady Heather's palace. She depicted it as a place for consenting adults to come, and experience their fetish in safe environment. It wasn't depicted as freakish, or weird. I was truly impressed.
Domina, nor should you. Ever.
But....but....I LIKE having sex in public!!! *Grin*Indigo wrote:
I think it's still that things are kept pretty much in the shadows. The more people are exposed to things, the more easily accepted they become. I had a conversation with Anna once, where she mentioned that when she first joined Milo, a lot of the things she saw she viewed as "extreme" but that now she didn't even blink at them. I think the same would happen to society, if sexuality weren't so repressed. Then again, I'm not avocating coming out and having sex in public, to make it more accepted. There's a fine line between appropriate, and too much.
My two cents worth ...
Yes, I think writers who know nothing of the lifestyle find it something they can toy with, not really understanding how it makes those of U/us in the lifestyle feel.Bindo wrote:
And I hate this. I guess S&M is an easy target for comedy writers, or fiction writers who need a joke. I've almost never seen BDSM depicted realistically. And it's so, so often for laughs. I guess we laugh defensively when we're confronted by something very strange to us. Or indeed when we're trying to hide something
Holy cow....they are long!!! WOW!!!! I love the color!!! *Smile* If I did something like that I would poke My eye out. *giggling*kinkydomina wrote:I don't know how many of you noticed, but I have very long fingernails. Those too are negatively depicted in all movies...

I think I remember that episode...vaguely. *smile*Indigo wrote:The best depiction I ever saw on television was an episode of CSI, where Gil Grissom visits Lady Heather's palace. I think that is correct. I think some think that if they admit it, then it means they have gay tendencies. It's a shame, because they could be enjoying so much of what life has to offer. *smile*kinkydomina wrote:Another episode that surprised me was from a series called 'Secret Diary of a Callgirl', in which the main character decides to experiment with being dominant, but she doesn't quite get it right, which proves not everyone can do it. But that particular series is non judgemental, as it depicts many tabboo issues of the contemporary society, such as prostitution, swinging, anal sex on men (she says all men like it, but 90% will not admit).
*giggling* *waits to see the answer*Indigo wrote: I have a question, after seeing that pic. How in the world do you type with those things?Seriously, they look really cool, but typing has got to be a bear!
*says innocently* But I do!!!! *giggling*Indigo wrote:

So, if I say I don't particularly like it, I'm lying? Interesting conundrum ...
I deny nothing, I admit everything. *giggling*Indigo wrote:
