I'm developing a randomized video software you might like

I'm currently working on a piece of software that may or may not be valuable to this community. It started as a video player project to randomize short clips to help me in making videos, but I quickly realized that with the right features, it could be pretty valuable as a standalone application, so I started adding some of them.

PleasurePilot is a video player that randomizes videos you add to your library. You can skip, loop, and A-B loop these clips at any time. There is a 5-star rating system for all the clips. The system keeps track of how many times a clip was played, skipped, set to loop, etc. There is an "I came" button, so the system knows which clip sent you over the edge. My long-term vision is a fully curated experience where you can create and save your own preset sessions, based on tags and other factors, plus training sessions where you can teach the system the things that make you hotter and what cools you down, allowing you to stay in the zone for as long as you wish.

Hey you got something going on there! Great minds think alike, I guess haha! From what I can tell the user can author adventures using clips on the hard drive? And I assume people can post and share their adventure scripts? That's really neat!

This sounds similar to an idea I had for VLC/Stash plugins but lack the knowledge to bring to fruition. Are there any plans to make this cross-platform? Also checking the screenshot on the discord, it looks like the path to the video directory is hardcoded. Will that be configurable in the future?

Both are fantastic questions and I will probably add them to a Q&A channel on the discord. This will be based on my ability to program them into reality, the easier of the two being the custom folder. I absolutely plan to get that running; having the hardcoded folder is just a temporary measure for the 0.x versions until I get that going. On the topic of cross-platform, it depends on the platform and the types of files/codecs that both the platform and engine are compatible with. Which platform were you interested in specifically?

I just want to throw in that Tribe also has a little project called IA2: Cock Hero Adventure which is has some RPG mechanics being added and worked on currently also, however it also has a couple other modes already built in.
One catch is that videos have to be converted from mp4 or mkv to a different container before use.

Yes it lets you make your own adventures. It packs them into a torrent as well, and seeds them automatically in the client.

While CYOA is absolutely fantastic and powerful tool to make randomized and interactive videos, it's in desperate need of basic tutorial that would show people how to at least set up the project. No one is using it because no one is able to do it.
Even I don't know how to do that.

There is definitely space for more "simpler or easier to learn" tools, which is what this one seems to be aiming for.
