It's a good opportunity to thank everyone who created something this year, and all those who supported and encouraged these creators.
May this community continue to help and support each other,
(despite some winter cultists , ... we/I love you anyway ).

I also hope that this type of initiative will not create disappointment or discouragement among certain creators,
but on the contrary will encourage new ones to start creating, and others to always try to do better.

This must obviously remain symbolic* and not be taken too seriously, creation is not a competition and there is room for everyone.

*(That's not the word I was looking for, but I hope what I meant won't be totally lost in translation)

Last year I said: "Below I've written a Q&A detailing the reasons for this year's changes, and at the end is a list with all of the releases that will be participating. Please, I ask of you to refrain from discussing said reasons in this post, I welcome criticism but I think we've run out of time to debate before the 2022 iteration." Then, on my next post I said: "Anyway, see that big paragraph to reply to a little question? That's why I think it's better to leave the discussion for next year's iteration XD I have strong opinions but it makes no sense to make a thing for people if said people are not going to see it as useful. So, if anyone reading is interested in having said discussion, feel free to open a new thread and we can have strong opinions together, for all the rest of 2023 hahaha"

No one opened a new thread so I understood no one was interested. I must admit, I was thankful, I did't want to invite drama. I wanted to open a door for discussion, at least for the first year, in case I was failing hard enough that I needed to be told to get better or get out, but... again, I have strong opinions (I mean, for a project like this, I would lose motivation if I couldn't do it my way), and I don't want to frustrate anyone by fueling debates then saying no to everything they propose, so that door is closed now (to be clear though, I'm talking about discussion only, I can't censor criticism or feedback, and I wouldn't want to). I hope I don't offend by not implementing any of the changes you proposed (they don't fit with what I tried to achieve when I decided what categories to include), and I hope the VOTY is still of value to you. Because, of all people here, I give special value to your opinion! As I said last year, "It was your post that got me in motion to set this up".
