For some reason, "Media -> Windows Media Player" inside Windows features had been removed/disabled.

That's a generic Windows error- All it says is that GDI+ (the internal Windows drawing library) failed to load the image.

Check that the images are of a sensible format (PNG / GIF / JPG/ BMP), not corrupt and of a sensible size.

You should really consider to put some more effort in your questions, like the more info you give, the better others could help.

For now, just try Awakening, it will (probably) show you (in error messages) what's wrong with your image tags.
