[ADVICE REQUEST] Syncing Action to Beat

Heya folks!

I've recently become interested in making PMVs and HMVs, and especially interested in figuring how how to sync the action on screen with the beat of the music. For the longest time I told myself it didn't matter, but now that I've tried my hand at the PMV arts, I'm just not satisfied with the simple "cut clips to beat" approach that works just fine for Cock Heroes.

Problem is, this is something I can't seem to figure out on my own. And since this site is filled with incredibly talented video editors, I figured I should... you know... just ask the experts??

So guys, please enlighten me! How the H E C K do you get your clips synced so that the fucking matches the bass??

"cut clips to beat" is pretty much what PMVs are so I'm not really sure what you can't figure out. Skilled PMV creators will make judicious transition effect choices which make their work outstanding. Perhaps that this is what you are wondering about?

Oh! That's kind of easy but a long process. You must have noticed the base sound on your audio timeline, right? Well, the visual that you put there must be exactly one stroke cycle between these beats. So when you need to, you have to accelerate or decelerate the play duration of your video clip.

So it really is as simple as "put in the time," eh? Fair enough haha. Thanks for the tip about speeding up/slowing down the clip, though. That will be very helpful!

Also, and this isn't really on-topic, but what's so privacy-invading about Discord? I haven't really heard anything about that?

Well, this is your thread... Here goes:

every time I see Discord being mentioned, my blood starts to boil. Their log-in process is totally insane (at least the time I was there), requiring the security code every time I was visiting the website, even if only a few hours had gone by. It's infuriating to no end.

I dumped Discord about two years ago. What may have led to this is that I never gave them a phone number, yet, they would impose some 2FA crap on me. I would never have activated that myself, on any platform.

At first, I would remain logged-in for months. Over time, I would need to log-in again, always a little by little sooner. And then I would be imposed some security code sent to my email (since I don't have a phone) in order to log-in. Finally, that damn login process every time I open a browser to Discord, the IP address remaining the same or not. That was too much for me.

With sim-swap and the countless phone vulnerabilities (all brands, any brands), 2FA and biometrics are totally pointless. Criminals can penetrate a system whenever they want. It's a false sense of security. Plus, Discord is not even a bank. It's a chat platform for god's sake.

How about properly setting a local HTTP session cookie which is unique to the browser/user even if the IP address changes? How about informing the user about his last access (so he knows someone may have accessed his account, and change his password)? How about sending a notification when some security issues are detected, and let them be reverted if need be? If the user is prepared to accept some "risks", for a more user friendly platform usage, why not offer him the option? We are all adults after all, not babies to be taken by the hand.
